Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT go to this place (I won't even call it a salon). I have NEVER experienced such a nightmare at any salon. I made an appt. for a haircut with Melissa who never showed up, even after the receptionist paged her twice. As I sat waiting unsuccessfully for her to arrive, three staffers got into some kind of a disagreement and behaved rather loudly and unprofessionally (to put it mildly). I finally got a haircut from Sayhid who did an average job but the drama was NOT worth any of it. Stay away at all cost!

She made me wait 20 minutes for an appointment while she chatted with a visitor. Then she barely cut my hair(she took less than 5 min)and had someone else blow dry it. The next day it looked like a poofy mess with no shape or style. For someone who supposedly understands wavy/curly hair she did a very poor job. She spent more time trying to convince me to have a nanokeratin treatment which she claims is a natural relaxer for 280 dollars than trying to give me an adequate cut. I have finally given up on DC and decided to book a train to go to Christo's in NYC.

I have to say I recieved a wonderful haircut, but everything else about the visit was terrible. Melissa was late by 45 minutes and she never apologized. The receptionist was also the shampoo girl and she washed my hair twice even though I *don't* wash my hair at all, she got TONS of water down my back AND down the front of my shirt so it looked like I had just ran a marathon. To top it off, she didn't apologize or offer to put my shirt in the dryer, she just tucked the towel down the back of my shirt and laughed. Finally, when Melissa got to my hair, she seemed nice enough but she seemed like she didn't care too much about what I had to say, like she had better things to do. When she was cutting my hair it was very uncomfortable and she diffused it but it still looked poofy and 80s. When I got home and washed it myself I loved it, but I'm still trying to decide if I would go back there and get treated like that again. Next time I'll ask for a different shampoo girl or do it myself!

I was sick of my hair!! It was flat on top and a big mess of curls on the bottom!! I had a co-worker with beautiful hair and she recommended Melissa (she found her on this site). I went in and asked her to perm the top of my hair. She refused and informed me that my hair was too "bulky" and she needed to slice the weight out and carve out the "heart of my curls. After I discussed this with her foe at least twenty minutes I was terrified, said no and walked out. After I thought about it I went back and told her to go for it. It turned out to be the best Cut of my life!! My hair is no longer triangle shaped!! It is beautiful! I sent my mother and sister to see her and we are all in love with her!! My sister takes the train from New York just to see her! If you have out of control hair she will save you!!

Randy did a beautiful job toning down my brassy highlights and adding layers to my long wavy hair. I showed him several pictures when I came in, and he did a fabulous job capturing what I liked about those pictures. Highly recommended!

She worked on my hair as I begged her to stop. My shoulder length hair yielded to her relentless need to slice and carve my hair. i woke up naked, literally a pool of my own hair, with the beautiful blonde next to me... I don't know what was better, the haircut or the company...... Ra

DO NOT GO HERE. Shampoo girl was mean to me, Lisette barely did anything to my hair and on a slow day had an assistant finger comb and blow dry my curls into a frizz nightmare. Not worth it.

I first met Melissa at Piaf. She had trained under Andre Chreky, who is Middle Eastern and who has dealt with a lot of curly hair. She then went out to Elie Elie's, where she became a certified Ouidad stylist. Then she moved to Bleu, but she's now back at Piaf. She recently did Minnie Driver and Drew Barrymore's hair. She knows curly hair.
