She strives for professionalism in everything she does - from her salon location, consultations, booking appointments- and yet is very friendly and personable. Although her prices are higher than neighborhood places, I'm happy to pay because her work is WORTH IT!
Tamika works with you and is realistic about what looks good and how she can make it happen. She's taken me through a big chop, short pixie style, growing it all out, and most recently highlights. Throughout it all my hair has remained healthy, bouncy, and stylish. I'm extremely happy to recommend her to anyone who asks. Sadly, I've recently moved out of her state - but I'm seriously considering visiting her the next time I'm there. You know how it is when you've found a great stylist!

I went to this salon based on the reviews on this site and I must say I was not disappointed. Tamika is very well versed in not only natural hair care but especially curly hair. She gave me a very thorough consultation and was familiar with the hair products I was already using on my hair. I appreciated the time she took to really feel my hair, get to know and understand it.
I told her what I was looking for and had a very rudimentary picture of something kind of close to what I wanted. I was VERY happy with my cut and will definitely return.

Caring, enthusiastic, creative and thorough. I felt so well taken care of from our first e-mails until I left her chair. Not only did my hair look great ( I got tons of compliments on my walk home), but Tamika really took the time to make sure I knew how to maintain and take care of my naturally curly do. I absolutely LOVE Tamika!!! She has been my stylist since 2008. Not only is Tamika gifted as a master barber, but she also understands hair care. She takes the time to consult with you about your goals for hair care and what styles will work for your needs. Last winter, I suffered from alopecia areata which left me with several bald patches on my scalp. I was completely devastated ... I called Tamika and she came in on her DAY OFF and reshaped my hair to cover up my hair loss!! She also recommended hair products that helped create volume for my hair texture while waiting for my hair to regrow. What can I say??? She is truly amazing!

Where do I begin?? Well for starters as soon as I get my hair done by Tamika, I get stopped by males and females of all nationalities asking me where I get my hair done and how great it looks!
Tamika, is accessible and always helps. One time I was across the country and was having a hair emergency and she was still able to consult me with what to do with my hair and what to use!
She is easy to talk to and truly CARES about the health of her clientele's hair. I've recommended her to everyone that I know and even complete strangers on a regular basis!

I could go on, but I'm hoping you can sense how truly elated I am with Tamika, her knowledge and passion for natural hair, and her expertise in dealing with it. From the numerous emails we sent prior to my appointment to the actual visit, never have I felt so validated and taken care of as a customer. I transitioned for a year but in doing so severely heat damaged a section of my hair, leaving my curl pattern a bit lopsided (part loose wave, part tight kink). Tamika gave me a thorough consultation and then expertly trimmed and blended that section with the rest of my curls. Plus, she's just a cool lady! Her price was extremely fair for the time we spent together and I'd highly recommend her to anyone: curly, ethnic, straight, weave...you name it.

I must say that since going to Tamika, my hair has thrived! I've been to other salons while being natural and they really don't give a crap about my hair. It's really just about styling. Tamika...formely from Salon Cecilia, is a great stylist. I have been following her for years. She is very attentive to ALL of my styling needs, as well as very nice and knowledgeable with products, and different hair types, and textures. I have been relaxing my hair for a long time, and have started the transition to my natural curls, Tamika has been there step by step, with all of the information that is getting my through this process. I watched her cut a head of beautiful curls, and thats what inspired me to transition.
I feel pampered when I visit her at the salon, and I can relax and be comfortable in her hands. She also comes in handy, when I need my makeup done for the many events that I attend. She's a wonderful hairstylist, makeup artist, and has become a FRIEND.

Finding Tamika was a dream come true. I became tired of going to salons recommended by friends, only to leave unsatisfied. After reading the other reviews I decided to give Tamika a call. She was so pleasant on the phone I couldn't wait to meet her. I have 4a/4b hair which had become very dry with the change in climate and hadn't had my ends trimmed in months. Before she began, she asked what products I use and how I maintain my hair, then told me what products she was going to use. During the shampoo process, she didn't rake my scalp with her fingernails and gave me an incredible scalp massage. When she began to blow dry my hair, I began to wonder if she would actually get it straight because her touch was light as a feather. I have tons of tight ringlets in my hair. My head has been yanked left, right, backwards, and forwards, by other stylists trying to blow-dry my hair. The entire process was 100 times better than anyone I'd gone to over the last couple years. When she was done, I had a head of soft, shiny hair that got me plenty of compliments from my friends. I have no reason to go to anyone else!

My hair was to my waist and now it's a mini curly-fro. What I liked most was after she made my hair into the most perfect Afro ever, she asked was I comfortable with it. Because if I wasn't, she would have styled it differently. I really appreciated that because it is hard to go from long hair to short and then to try another new look... sometimes you are not really ready for your new ideas once you have to wear them. I went to Tamika under a friends recommendation. I was very skeptical, i've had bad experiences at other salons and with other stylist. I've been doing my hair myself for 2 yrs because of this. I decided to take a chance because my friends hair ALWAYS LOOKS AMAZING. Tamika also did my friends makeup for her birthday party. My natural hair is very curly, and I get a texturizer to soften the curl. Tamika was so knowledgable, and understanding to my needs!! she explained, everything to me, and recommend products that I should use at home. I was so pleased with the final results. Tamika is a great stylist. I have followed her around for at least the last three years. She has recomended great products for my naturally thick curly hair that at times is wavy, frizzy or puffs up in a little 'fro. The Jane Carter solution products have helped my scalp that was itchy for years from dryness to become well moisturized and stay that way for days. Tamkia has also curled, colored and straightened my hair. She is able to assist me with every crazy idea that I want to realize in a hair style.
