Seeing the positive reviews below, I went to Rachel. My appointment started 25 minutes late, and I felt like Rachel rushed through the appointment to make up for time. Haircuts make me nervous (from years of curly trauma) and Rachel did nothing to make me feel better about the experience - she hardly looked at the photos I brought, and barely made conversation with me through the process, instead chatting only with the other stylists. Without asking, she RAZORED my thick 3B curls without asking, leaving me with a frizzy mess of split ends that I'm working for months to grow out. Worst haircut experience I've had in years.

I have been searching for a stylist who can cut my curly hair and I FINALLY found an AMAZING stylist. Rachel has curly hair, understands what its like (the struggles and the joys) and gave me a beautiful haircut. She listened to my concerns, talked me through her ideas, and took the time to make my hair look great. If you have curly hair, you must go and see her!

May 22nd, 2015 I found my curly soulmate... After A LOT of bad haircuts (aka triangle head) by expensive and "experts in curly hair" professionals I found Rachel.  The second i saw her i knew she was the one, very similar hair texture and she wears her hair curly too. I am puertorican and moved from the island to MD 6 years ago, during all those years i have found semi good people that will cut my hair but nothing like Rachel she took the time to listen about my triangle head nightmares and she knew how i felt. Not even once she suggested that i straightened my hair or get a brazilian or whatever is called. So if you want a great cut just go to her, right now she is working at her house in la little salon, but last time i checked she was moving to a big location. She is the best!

I got my first hair cut by Rachel while my hair was in its curly natural form and I really love the shape she gave my hair. She also gave me a few natural looking highlights (my hair is dark brown the color was a few shades lighter than my natural color). Over all I was impressed because she handled my sometimes crazy frizzy kinky hair well.

Rachael was absolutely fantastic!  I was searching for a new stylist to fix a horrible, way too dark color mess from both a previous stylist who repeatedly didn't listen and my own attempt to touch up roots that had left me growing out a curly mess of calico cat colored hair.  I found Rachael solely based on reviews on this site and was not disappointed. Rachael looked carefully at my hair and fixed the whole mess.  The curly cut is great and my color and highlights are fantastic. She choose colors based on our talk and highlights to match my eyes and I love it!  I highly recommend Rachael. Her home studio is very cute and I'm looking forward to her new salon opening soon!

Rachel was extremely personable and knowledgable about curly hair. I had been getting my hair cut by the same person for over 10 years so I was nervous to allow someone else to give me a trim. I was also hesitant to go to the basement of her house for a cut but she has all of the requisites of a salon right there. Rachel put me at ease and her work has given convinced me to be a returning customer. I'm very excited for her new studio to open in the near future.

I have been getting my hair cut by Rachel for over 10 years. She's incredible. I live in CA now and get my hair cut by Rachel every time I'm in Baltimore. She's the most talented hairdresser I've ever worked with and can handle any type of curl. She uses natural products which I really appreciate. I cannot say enough about her artisan hair skills!

This was my first time having a cut and color with Rachael. She took the time to listen to and to address my concerns and she gave me exactly what I wanted. She explained things in a way that helped me to understand what kind of cut would be best for my hair and her advice was spot on! She is a genius with naturally curly hair and I highly recommend her. She is definitely my new, favorite stylist!

Trying to find someone who understood curly hair was difficult to find. Rachel not only understands it, she is willing to take risks. I was looking for something fun and on the artistic side. She went above and beyond my expectations as a stylist and person. Thank you Rachel!! xoxo

Rachel did a great job of cutting my hair. I have short hair that was growing out into a goofy, unprofessional look, and with those challenges, Rachel did an amazing job. She changed the shape of my hair and she considered my styling habits when making the cut. I've got great curl definition, and get compliments on it regularly. And she's a super nice person.

I went to Rachel for the first time recently after trying for some time to find a curly hair stylist in Baltimore that I was pleased with since moving here in the last year. She did a great job and I also appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. So far I have been happy with the cut (one week later) and plan to see Rachel again for another cut. I was also pleased with the ability to schedule a time that really worked for me. I highly recommend!

I love my new hair cut, and my new stylist. I have been lusting hard over bangs for 10 years and always thought my curly hair meant I could never pull them off. Not so with Rachel! She is an artist and I am glad I gave her some creative freedom because what she did I didn't even know that I wanted/needed. Let me be clear, I am no stranger to curly and diva curl certified stylists, but Rachel is on another level. It's 50 minute commute for me to Rachel's salon, but as long as I live here, no one else will be touching my hair. Rachel was very accommodating of my CRAZY schedule and it is reassuring to know that I will be able to schedule an appointment around my crazy schedule. Just a note, Rachel started the popular salon "Sprout" in Baltimore, and is now working only at her new salon, not Sprout. So if you want Rachel's magic, and you do, you'll have to come here.
