I called to make an appointment with the intention of seeing Jordan Betts because I was referred to her and have read that she is the best in Rochester. I spoke with a young girl on the phone and she refused to tell me where Jordan went and promised that Philip was better than anything. WRONG. He used a comb on my hair and he didn't even do my finish. He made the other stylist finish my hair, you could tell he was nervous with my curls. If you did your research, follow your gut. Don't give in to pressure!! I should have walked out.

As someone with curly hair, it can be very tricky to get a good cut. I've always walked out after Philip's "curly cut" feeling like a hair model. He really understands hair and work miracles with my inconsistently curly hair. I'm less curly in some areas and he cuts it so it all bounces and curls the same. It's amazing.

The best place on earth for a curly girl! Heaven in a hair cut. If you have curly hair, you have most definitely had harrowing experiences while having your locks cut. This is the first place I have ever been that really understands curly hair. I will NEVER have my hair cut at another place. NEVER! I am a complete and total believer!

While spending the summer near Rochester, NY, I needed to find a good stylist to cut and color my very curly hair. I found Jordan Betts through this site. Jordan gave me the best haircut of my life. Jordan is a trained Devacurl stylist as well as a Devacurl teacher. She cut my hair exactly as I wanted it and gave me tips on how to create the same look at home. The color of my hair was also fantastic. The salon itself is very comfortable. The entire staff is very friendly. Not only is Jordan a fantastic stylist, she is a wonderful person. She gave us suggestions about where to have lunch and ice cream. I was anxious about getting my hair cut while in NY. Now I'm anxious about finding someone as good as Jordan when I return to Florida.

Jordan did a really great job with my hair. She's the only person who has ever cut it dry to know what it'll look like with my curls. The only reason she doesn't get a 5 is because I would've liked my front pieces to be a little shorter, but that's a quick fix at home. I would definitely recommend her to anybody with my hair type. I was a little surprised with the price, $60 for a student, but it's worth the price to keep my hair from getting butchered by somebody who doesn't know how to cut hair.

I have had a lot of haircuts where I have gone home and cried and attempted to fix my hair myself. I'm not talking cheap $5 haircuts either. I used to consistently pay good money for a hairstyle with which I was never satisfied. If you are a full on curly girl or are just trying to learn to embrace your curls you NEED to run and make an appointment with Jordan ASAP! Jordan follows the DevaCurl philosophy, so a cut with her may take more time than you are used to but you will never regret it. She cuts your hair dry and looking at each curl individually. She will then wash, condition, and style your hair. Once you are dry she goes back in and cleans up the shape. This process is much slower than a traditional cut but you leave the salon knowing what your hair will look like after you wash at home the first time. Jordan is a great stylist. She asks why you love about your hair and what is bothering you. She is good at listening to what you want and telling you what will work. The best thing is she shows/explains everything she does so you can recreate at home. There is no magic voodoo to her styling, you can totally do it on your own. You will not regret having Jordan cut your curls, and if you are fighting yours now she will definitely help you embrace them. I found Jordan at another salon and am following her to her new location. I have never followed a stylist anywhere before but consider me a Jordan Betts groupie!

If you want to fully love your curls you have to find someone who knows how to work with them. I have had so many traumatic haircuts where the stylist just didn't understand curly hair or tried to force it into something it just won't do. I am a pretty devoted fan of DevaCurl and was super excited to find a trained stylist in the area. Jordan is the first stylist where I left the salon and did not cry or feel a need to attempt to "fix" my hair. She is great at listening to what you want and telling you what will work. Every time I go in she asks what I like about my cut and what issues I have and then we work to address it. She will show you techniques to work with your particular hair so you can style it on your own. A cut with Jordan may take longer than you are used to since she follows the Deva process. She will cut your hair dry first, wash, condition, style and sit you under a dryer. Then she will go back after it is dry and clean up the shape a little more. This is my favorite part as when you leave you know what your hair will look like the next time you wash--no more surprises when you try to style on your own! I started with Jordan at another salon and am following her to Salon 113. If you have embraced your curls you will love Jordan and if you have curls you hate Jordan will help you love them!

As many other curly-haired girls have probably experienced, everyone treated my hair like it was an impossible problem- I had multiple stylists either relax my hair or try to convince me to have a permanent straightening system performed. I've been to many stylists (even senior aka extremely expensive stylists) and all of them cut my hair and never styled it, having me leave their salon looking like a frizzy mess and worse off then when I went in. I have never truly been happy with a hair cut in my entire life, that is until I met Jordan Betts. Not only does Jordan know specific techniques for cutting and coloring curly hair, but she has an amazing knowledge of how to style it using the proper products and a lot of tactics that were new for me. I was shocked to see how amazing my hair could look, it was truly like seeing it for the first time- the way it was supposed to be all along. Jordan took time to walk me through each step, offer me advice, and gave me the best color, cut, and style of my entire life. It wasn't just me that was impressed; my friends, boyfriend, and family all loved my new look. I recommend Jordan to anyone who could use a great stylist with real curly hair know-how. I can't wait to continue going to Jordan at her new location at Salon 113. Do yourself and your curly hair a favor- go visit Jordan Betts for an amazing overall experience!
