Wow thanks for the info. I think I have the same issue but I have yet to talk to the doctor about what it could be. Either way I have been thinking about starting doing kegels.I had a problem with tensing up during sex (a side effect of another gynecological problem) and my gyn sent me to a physical therapist who specialized in pelvic/gynecological issues.Stupid question coming up.... but when you do them during sex doesn't it kinda take away from your pleasure/moment? Does it feel better for you when you do them during sex?
She had me do kegels during sex as a way to make sure you are releasing any muscle tension. Since we don't think about those muscles much, sometimes you are not even aware you are tensing them. Doing kegels can help you become more aware of how to relax them. So for me, it really helped my sex life.
I much prefer to do kegels during sex because it feels more productive to squeeze around something. When I do them any other time, they feel weird and it's harder to tell how well I am doing them.
