idk.. is your hair thick like mine? 2 wont do it for me i need 4.
i also have to make sure my layered bits are twisted while i put the bun up.. twist then curl around, tuck ends then 4 pins.. i still get some bits that boing out but it stays up and looks cool.

my hair is super thick and 2 pins hold mine...but now I want another set to do multi buns like RCC!

I do believe this is the longest thread I ever created, and a non-controversial one at that!

Now if my camera will stop being a bytch so I can get pics up, i'll be happy!

I know, I was perfectly happy with my one set until I saw how gorgeous RCC's hair is! I assume I'll automatically get the great color as well?

I saw a video on youtube that showed how someone with medium length hair can use them to make a french twist. You basically make your twist and insert one pin through the bottom and one through the top. I'm wearing my hair like that today and its much more comfortable than regular bobby pins.

Here is the link for the video:

That video really helped me. I have thin hair too but
my hair is longer. I am going to practice with these pins.
I have an outdoor graduation today and it will be 90 degrees so I have to get this mastered.

She reminds me of someone here, for some reason...

Anywho, I really need to get my hands on some of these! I love the way that my hair looks when it's in a low bun, but I have the hardest time getting it to stay in with regular bobby pins! The only time it was successful was when I had my hair done that way for a wedding, and she used upwards of 40 pins!

I found some yesterday! My target had one brunette and one blonde set left, so I just got the one brunette set. I have short hair (the longest bits are brushing my shoulders) and it's very fine. I wasn't expecting these to hold all day, and they don't for me at this length. But that's what I expected. However, they do actually hold it pretty well for a while. So long as I'm open to taking a couple restroom breaks to redo it, I could wear these out and about. Haven't tried anything more adventorous then just sort of wrapping my hair up and twisting them in.

I think I picked my set up in the same LHC group order all of those years ago!

I still have them in my drawer of hair treasures, but I haven't used them in quite a while. I may have to revisit. I do recall them providing a very secure hold.

Picked up a brunette set on my way home from work last night. I'm growing out a bob, so I really didn't expect these to work yet, but they did! ..... sort of. The tiny bun looked a bit silly, but not nearly as silly as a ponytail (bunny tail?? ), so I'll use these when I'm bumming around the house for now. Very promising for when my hair has grown out a bit more.

Default modified spin pin bun for short hair

Instead of winding the hair into a bun, I gathered/piled/mooshed it together and screwed in the pins. Is it cheating if I also had to use two bobby pins for the wispy strands at the nape of my neck, and a headband? This is how I usually pin my hair up, but it takes at least 15 regular bobby pins to achieve & isn't nearly as comfortable/weightless-feeling as this. I'm sold!

The Spin Pins are in there, I promise.

And here's a close-up on the headband. I got it at Claire's, and I love it.

OperaCurls, I think I just fainted. Your hair is absolutely beautiful! That headband is cute, cute I'm going to have to look for one.

Opera, I gasped out loud at your hair pic.

I think I found some pins on eBay. Just noticed that the auction doesn't say Goody's but the picture looks exactly the same.

It's hot here now, and I really want to do something with my hair so I'm trying it.

Operacurls, what gorgeous curls you have.

I tried looking for these pins at Target today and like everyone else has experienced, they were sold out. I'll have to keep looking. I'm very intrigued.

Thanks for the compliments, ladies. I wore my hair that way to work last night, but unfortunately it did slip as the evening wore on. This had more to do with the length of my hair than the design of the pins, so I'm looking forward to experimenting again when I have a bit more length.

Weird that so many people are having trouble finding these in stock. My Target had at least 10 packs. There must not be many crazy NC.com-ers in my area.

I finally found some, at the same Walgreen's I checked before -- they must have brought some out from the back. They work! I like them!

I still can't get them to hold my hair. My hair is thin but long so I probably need another set. I am bound and
determined to get these pins mastered!!! I love seeing pictures of how people have used them. All of you have such beautiful hair.
