My hip hurts when I walk.

I noticed it last night all of a sudden, I don't know if it was some way I twisted my body when I was turning and walking. But when I walk now it's a sharp pain in my hip. I still have it this morning, when I was laying down I stretched out my legs different ways to see if the pain was still there and it was.

I took some ibuprofen but any idea of what it could be?

I just looked that up and it could be that.

Good excuse to rest tonight. I'll take some Tylenol and ice my hip as well while watching X-Files. What a night.

I took ibuprofen and that didn't seem to help, should I just rest this weekend and see how it feels? The pain is pretty bad.

The only time my hips ever hurt me was when I was pregnant...
It's only my left side. I'm not pregnant, thank goodness.

I have problems with my SI joints, which is in the lower back/ hip area. I went to the chiropractor for 2 or 3 weeks and that seemed to help. You might want to check that out.

Just taking a couple one time won't do anything.

If it still hurts by Monday or you can't walk on it, you should see the doctor.

Is this the hip joint you mean which hurts? Or muscles leading to/attaching to your hip? Some part of the psoas group of muscles?

Thanks for the comments some of you made on taking ibuprofen multiple times... I hurt my left hip joint somewhat in a car accident - and riding has aggravated it. I couldn't figure out why it didn't bother me for a while, then started to bother me again and hasn't gone away like it did before. First time it was bothering me I was also having sinus problems, so taking ibuprofen regularly...aka, that helped the hip, too.

But at least the pews never attend yoga!
I'd say it's the joint but the pain does hurt my upper thigh a bit and my bum.
