Spinoff: multi-cultural/racial relation: how did you meet?

Not enough room in the title box...basically, those of you in multi-cultural/racial relationships, how did you meet? Who approached whom? It is always interesting to find out how couples met.

Thanks!

We met through a mutual friend. My husband happened to tag along one day and the rest is history It's funny that we hadn't met sooner as we knew so many of the same people.
We actually grew up in the same neighborhood, attended the same elementary and middle schools, and I even knew his older sister and brother and went to high school with them (but I had no idea they had a little brother). A guy I had grown up with was his best friend and we met through him. It's such a small world. The best friend is the first cousin of my brother's wife and my husband either knows or knows of many of her cousins.

He asked me out and we were steadily dating for a while and then the evil ex came back, we had some time apart and then got back together and it's been that way ever since.
I met my husband through a church group while we were in college. I was dating someone else at the time so we were just friendly and didn't actually date until later.

We met in Sunday School - our church had a big singles program at the time, including Sunday School classes broken up by age: 20-something, 30-something, etc. We hung out with the group for a couple months after he started coming to class, then he FINALLY asked me out.

My SO and I had two classes together senior year of high school. I had a crush on him all year and finally got the nerve up in April to ask him to our senior prom. He said yes and then asked me out for real the night of our prom.

With my ex-husband - he picked me up in an Irish pub. He lied and told me that he was Italian (he's Syrian). I thought that I'd impress him by speaking Italian to him. He didn't understand a thing I said, so he was busted. He then said that he hate telling people that he was Arab because the terrorist label got slapped on him - and this was pre 9/11. I figured it was a reasonable enough lie and let it slide.

Other guys I've interdated - various means, bars, work, friends.

My husband and I met because of a message board. One of the board members had a house party that we both went to, and from that day on, he started IMming me every day.

We met in our Art History class in college. We had seen each other in two other classes but didn't officially meet and speak til that very class. I knew he was mine right then and there

Internet. I put up an ad in a local website geared towards foreigners living in the country (the locals read it too) I wasn't looking for a bf just looking to meet more people, especially a local to hang out with and show me around and help me with learning Chinese. He answered the ad. Turns out I knew more places than he did. He had moved back from being in the states for over a decade and didn't know about the new places since he had left when he was young. When he moved back to the US I followed him a couple months later.
