I think she'll keep the baby so there can be some drama. Water break while running from zombies? Screaming baby when trying to hide? Is three too young to give a handgun class?

And Shane is getting all sorts of psycho and controlling and he's going to be all over that hot mess.

By the way, for those who think Andrew Lincoln (the lead) looks familiar, but can't place him, I just discovered that he was in "Love Actually" (the guy who's obsessed with his best friend's new bride, played by Keira Knightley). And apparently the actress who plays Andrea, the blonde woman in the department store crew, used to play Marita Covarrubias on The X-Files.

Yes! They got her with the black ooze/oil eyes.

Thanks for a happy memory from the X-Files (which I loved, mostly).

The whole farmhouse storyline is pretty creepy. And I'm thinking Shane has gotten pretty hot since he's gone kinda crazy. : )

Forgot to say how much I liked this episode. Glad they killed the barn zombies. Crazy or not, Shane and Daryl are the ones keeping this group of people alive. They do what they gotta do. And I hope they are all forced to leave the farm, because the show would be pretty darn dull if they stay there. And I hope the guy from Lost shows up again soon.

Shane is totally hot! lol. my friend laughs at me, says I have a knack for being attracted to the crazies. hehe. I don't think he is all that nuts..i think he is in survival mode, and now that he knows Lori is preg, he'll do whatever needs to be done. What's up with Rick? I thought for the longest time that the scientist at the place that blew up whispered to Rick that his wife is pregnant, but from his reaction last week, and his actions this week, I don't think that's the case. Has anyone else noticed how much he looks like crap after giving blood...perhaps his sick? - like cancer sick? And that's the reason why he didnt over-react when Lori told him about her and Shane? Maybe he wants Shane to take care of her after he is gone??? just speculation...

Maybe it's because he makes me feel like I'm back home in GA, but I've totally got the hots for Daryl. I hope he doesn't do something asinine and ruin it for me.

I even watched a horrid Blade movie Mr. Spring put on the other night because he was in it. I felt I might weep when he turned out to be the bad guy and got blown to bits.

I think she was recently bitten. I think maybe she sneaked into the barn to hide and was bitten there rather recently. On "Talking Dead" the creator/writer/whomever said that they shot an alternate ending with Sophia walking out, healthy, and just reacting to the sun after hiding for so long. And they also pointed out that yes, she wasn't undead long as evidenced by the decay....the only area of harm on her body was the bite in her neck. They also said that the guy who was murdered by Shane, Otis, would have been the one to put her there (apparently herding walkers was his job), but there was really no talk of why the group wandered onto Hershel's property or into the woods until after Shane murdered him....they were so focused on Rick's kid being shot. So there is the possibility that Otis put her in there.

That part was sad.

And yeah, her dad was molesting her. Which is part of the reason I wished the her mom would have died already.

Is it bad that I hate all the women characters? They are either horribly pitiful or overcompensating.

I don't like Shane and even though it was necessary to kill the walkers, I didn't like the whole shoot em up scene. He seems like a loose cannon and anyone is next.

I do like Daryl though. I think he will be one of the last characters left.

The ending last night made me "Aww..." aloud.

I have a question though. How do people turn if they are usually zombie dinner when the walkers get a hold of them?

Sooo, if you just get bit by a zombie, you'll turn...say, if you were in a fight and just gotten bit but then got away or killed it first...but if you're dinner, than well, I don't think there is any transformation.
Another zombie fact...a zombie can only be killed if you get it in the head.

No I understand the idea, but I'm saying that most encounters are not being bit but being dinner. The victim rarely gets away.

I learned about how to properly take out a zombie in my Zombie 101 college course. But thanks for the tip.

My thoughts: I think she was a zombie when she was found, and Hershel had Otis put her in the barn, same as the two they were wrangling tonight. I think the reason why she wasn't that decayed is that we needed to immediately recognize her as Sophia, since we haven't seen her for several episodes. We didn't remember what she was wearing, etc. Of course, we get the reaction shots from the other actors, but the big reveal has the most impact, so she needed to look like Sophia.

I was kind of glad they released and shot the barn zombies, but I wish there had been more reaction from Hershel and Maggie to the individual zombies. Clearly Hershel's wife/Maggie's mother was one of them, but they seemed to react the same to each zombie that was shot. It was like generic sad zombie death reactions.

I really, really hope Carol and Daryl don't become a romantic thing. I'd much rather see Andrea with Daryl--I liked the way they vibed off each other when they went looking for Sophia, and Shane is too douchey to be her love interest longterm. Plus, he's all obsessed with dumb Lori.

I really wish Lori was played by another actress.

i much rather see daryl stay single. i like him the best. in a zombie outbreak i would feel much safer with him. he's so sweet and lovable.

i'm not too fond of the female characters either. lori is annoying. andrea is confused. she whines about wanting to die, then when a zombie is about to take her out, she freaks out. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!! and carol (who my sis calls the bald chick who let her daughter get raped) i want her dead as well. anyone who claims to be a mother but let their kid take abuse needs to be eaten by a zombie.

anythoughs or what happened to meryl (daryl's brother) or if the father and son from the first episode is still alive? what do you think the crazy scientist whispered to rick?

I don't understand the Lori hate! I don't think she's trying to keep Shane on the hook so she can get back together with him if Rick dies. She did have feelings for Shane before Rick came back into the picture, and she can't instantly turn those off. She just feels extremely awkward around him because it's an awkward situation.

Shane is not obsessed with Lori, he's a womanizer and a user at heart and that won't change.

Andrea is annoying to me with how she vacillates between hardcore badass and sad weepiness.

I truly don't see Carol and Daryl hooking up. That's more of a motherly/son relationship.

ETA: So.....was it completely wrong for Shane to shoot Otis? If he didn't, wouldn't both of them and Carl died? So it's just one death instead of three?

That's my husbands take on it. I like to live more in a fantasy and would like to believe they both would have made it out, they both made it out of the gym and that far. I also believe they wouldn't have the chance to save Carl if Otis didn't go with Shane and show him the supplies. On another hand, they wouldn't be in the situation if Otis hadn't shot Carl.
