I guess Shane had to shoot Otis. But it was still a douche move, since Shane wouldn't be alive if Otis hadn't shown up when he was backed against the chainlink fence. Also, I feel like if he'd shot him in the head, he would still have been "fresh" enough to appeal to the zombies, seeing as how they were RIGHT THERE. Otis' death was pretty much the most horrifying way to end your life, EVER. I think Shane is an opportunist, and I do think Dale was right--he's exactly the type that was meant to live in an apocalyptic world. I do think he made the right decision in this last ep, though. This group needed a dose of realism.

i was dramatized when otis died. it felt so bad about shooting carl. It really got me, when shane told him to go, and otis told him he wasnt going with out him. then shane shoots him in the leg! really? after he saved your life and refused to leave you behind you shoot him in the leg? thats just dirty!

also i had a few thunks about the show. so you in a world overran by zombies, everyone is dying, zombies dont care your race. every once in a while someone swoops in the save the day, no matter the race the the rescuee or savior (is that right?) do you think people like meryl would live long? who would even hard care racist still care about race when a black man and about to save his neck? or would he juast say, "thats ok, i'll take my chances with the zombies, i dont like your kind"?

another thunk. my sister actually got me thinking about this. you running from zombies, they could be anywhere, they can smell you and hear you with superhuman abilites. So do you really want to risk having sex? Would you really be in the mood? when i'm scared i cant do anything, i probabbly wouldnt had been able to go to the bathroom until the cdc.

speaking of the cdc, why the hell was there so much booze??

i love this show and zombies, and cant help but analyze and wonder what would humanity really do if/when this happen?

Zombie apocalypse or not, I'm still peeing and pooing when I need to. No way I'd hold it til we got to the CDC. The world's gone to **** so I can't? I don't think so.

I'm rewatching the first season as I grade essays, and here's the conclusion I've come to: This would be a better show if Rick was a lone wolf, just meeting people and learning more about survival...kind of roving around trying to stay alive and make sense of the new world. The most interesting part of Season 1 was finding out what the rules were, and putting oneself in Rick's shoes, trying to imagine what you'd do in the event of a ZA.

Having Rick find his wife and kid was a mistake--it would have been better for him to wonder if they were still out there for a while. And to wonder about Shane and his friends. Once he met the merry band of boring folks, it became more of an annoying soap opera, only the characters aren't developed enough for us to truly care about their drama. And we've stopped seeing zombies.

There is SO much to mine in the New World/ Post Apocalypic area, and if we just learned more and more about one central character, but had him interact a while with folks like the family he met in the first episode, it would be more dynamic. I guess it would be more like I Am Legend, but it would be more interesting to me.

What do you think is gonna happen at the barn? Think Hershel will go crazy or come around accept the "walkers" as Walkers. Jeepcurly...I'd love it more if Shane or Daryl knocked on my door for a place to stay...lol

I think what I don't like most about this show is Andrea...I just can't stomach her. I think as crazy as Shane is, he's is Survival overdrive and Rick tries to be too politically correct about everything. I think that makes Shane's survival actions look more crazy.

What ever happened to Rick trying to reach out to that guy every morning...guess that kind of faded off. Wonder if he'll resurface at one point.
I just really want to see more zombie action...they've kind of thinned out...something tells me that the second half of the season will be a little different. (hopefully)

Wavyblonde....I agree with you about Rick finding his family too soon. It would be more drama is Lori had developed more of a romantic relationship with Shane first.

I would say Rick is being humane about everything. How is it PC to not shoot someone in the leg and leave them behind as zombie bait? It's an ass hole move for sure.

It was a A - hole move, but I don't think Shane wouldn't have gotten out alive if he
didn't do some kind of distraction. Maybe politically correct wasn't the right wording....Rick is just trying to make everyone happy and sometimes harder decision need to be made when the world is falling to $hit around you. Maybe I just think he is too hot and just trying to rationalize his A-hole-ness. lol

Sunday evening rolled around me and Mr. Spring just sorta looked at each other like "WTF are we supposed to do NOW?"

I can't believe I miss a show about zombies when I hate that sorta stuff.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Do they air the last episode of Walking Dead before the new one each week? If so you could watch the Grammy's tonight and force yourself to wait a week to see the new episode. You'd be having a mini marathon next Sunday!

They are running season 2 on AMC now. Also, if you have smartphone/tablet, you can download AMC app and watch there
