Sounds like the big red Chow my dad used to have. His name should've been Houdini - his favorite pasttime was escaping from the fence, but he'd seldom go anywhere except around the house to lie in the garage. It was just a big game to him but a major annoyance to my dad since he refused to neuter him, and Yogi became pretty aggressive.
He finally HAD to have him fixed after Yogi escaped to go romance a little terrier that was in heat, and he had to go to court over the matter. After that, they still played the escape game sometimes, but he stuck strictly to the garage and never tried to bite anyone else. Dad drove long iron hooks into the ground every six inches to hook the chain link in place, yet that crazy dog still managed to defeat him, LOL! Even electrified the fence, but Yogi's hair was so thick, it didn't faze him one bit.
He'd still get out and be lying in the carport smiling at Dad once he missed him and went looking for him - he was one of those dogs that literally smiled

I just remembered I saw on some dog show that they installed a dog gate around the front door so their dog couldn't escape. It might be helpful, especially if he's having trouble with door knocking too. I kinda wish I had one. It looked kind of like this one.

She'll use anything as a blanket. Even the corner of my hoodie.
My fat thumb will make mistakes.

We walked past a dog the other day that came charging down the drive barking madly but then just stopped when it got to the road, like it had hit an invisible wall. I wish I knew how people got their dogs to do that.

C&C have been on antibiotics for suspected UTIs. I give them treats when I give them the medicine, with the result that they now harass me to medicate them!

If those paws were black it would be Dora. She's always doing that when the cutting board comes out... because it's always chicken that I'm cutting up. Uh huh, yuP.

It sounds like the house had an electric fence. Did you notice if the dog had a special collar?

You think your cat likes to sit in inconvenient places? Try a lizard
Every.time. She can't sit on the top of my head. That would be too easy.

I love this picture so much!
My daughter has been begging for a hamster now for months, so I caved and got her one for her birthday.
Meet George. Sorry for the icky quality.

Haha! My first thought was: eek! Then I remembered that we used to have pet rats, who liked to hide under my hair. Does the lizard ever get caught in your curls? The rats didn't.

My rats always get stuck in my waves. It's funny. Love my little buddies.
