I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

Just because George was looking extra handsome today

If George could blush, he would be. Hes an awesome dog and I miss him terribly since I moved out... luckily hes only 5 minutes away!
He was found as a stray in Kansas, picked up by the SPCA, then picked up by a Corgi rescue, traced back to his breeder who said he was purchased by a family. She said that the family contacted her a while ago saying that the dog had died. The breeder was absolutely shocked and so happy that George was alive and well. My parents stay in touch with her and his foster mom regularly.

I'm partial to stubby legged dogs and George is adorable.

He was sitting in my lap and then decided to help himself to my water.

Watching the rain. 3rd kitty left the picture moment before I caught it. See the ugly woods piece in the door? Ya, thats cause kittys figured out how to open the screen.

This my baby diva! She is 9 months :-)
Ninja asked in another thread if Calvin could swim and I mentioned this video and can't believe I found it!

It's really grainy because it's from our camera and it might be hard to make it out, but Mr. Spring is holding Calvin above the water and he's still kicking his legs like he's swimming. I know a lot of dogs do it, but those stubby little legs kicking just crack me up. We were out for a walk with some family and had to cool off in this creek we found.

I saw him, springy!

I saw his front legs going.

Why do they do that? It's so funny.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they do it for our entertainment....or maybe it's that whole instinct thing.

So, if they're small, and they're very near water, the little legs start paddling, no matter what?

Hmmm.........I wonder who will lend me a small dog with which to experiment......safely! Of course, safely!

We should make a better video of it just to experiment. Now I can't remember if he does it before ever touching the water, or only after being in the water then coming back out. Maybe I can fill a washtub with water and see what happens.

The first time he was ever in the water we took him to the ocean and as I picked him up to carry him across the beach, he was steady kicking.

Calvin's funny! Both of my dogs have been to the beach, but never in deep enough to actually swim, so I've never seen them paddle. They were both more interested in digging in the sand, chasing birds and sniffing those little clam holes than going anywhere near the water.
He's definitely not crazy about the water, that's for sure. Any time we've put him in he makes a bee-line for the nearest exit. His little stubbies get tired quick so he's never in for long.

Claude just made a big SPLASH and then sunk when he fell in last weekend. He bobbed right back up like a big white hairy buoy, thankfully, or else a certain mom would have had to jump in after him and hoist out his rump and bowling ball head.

He did look unexpectedly happy afterward, though.
