Aw, poor baby!
Laughing at Rescue Rosie! love it. The lady from the rescue wanted to know what we were going to name her. I thought she'd come to the rescue with the name. It suits her so we are going to keep it. That just delighted the woman, since she had actually chosen the name for her.
Ninja, I know you know poodles. Can you recommend a good poodle website, or other resources for a new poodle mommy? I googled it, but there are too many to wade through.

Good question.
I like the Dorling-Kindersley/ Bruce Fogle book on poodles.
Poodle | Bruce Fogle
What I've also learned over the years is that they're much hardier than they seem, and despite what everybody says, they look GREAT in a fancy haircut. But that's a preference thing.
Also, make sure to check on her ears; with only one exception, all my poodles have been prone to blockages from inner ear hair growth. There's a certain amount of hair you should leave in, but if growth is excessive, it should be gently plucked, and the ears rinsed with a disinfectant. Talk to your vet and/or groomer about what she sees in there.
I think RCW and 2poodles are familiar with the breed as well.
I love walking pit bulls and a poodle together. They look terrific in sets.

Sorry there is no pic of this little pet but I thought the story was interesting. This is from my cousin who has loads of pets - dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents.
My lizard saved my life today!
One of my students gave me this annole lizard as a "gift." I hate the thing and have been trying to give it away since May. (High maintenance pet.)
It's usually green, but it turns this hideous shade of brown when it's stressed (like when the cat lays on top of it's tank - haha). WELL, I looked at it this morning and it was totally brown for no apparent reason.
Then I smelled the gas! Here, I had bumped a knob on my stove putting dishes away last night, and gas was leaking all night (the poor lizard will probably croak today from asphixiation.)
An update tonite - the life-saving lizard is still alive and on his way to a new home tomorrow, to a little girl who has always wanted a lizard. So a happy ending all around!

It is too cute. I just noticed that it says "If you can read this, start petting."

My Labradoodle, Bailey. She used to be a lot shaggier but we shaved her down.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

We'll have to coordinate. Let's see, there's claudine, curlylaura, and .... who else am I missing? We should wear matching "sneaky" type outfits too for our dognapping spree.

Calvin already has his handsome chest beard; it would be a shame to cover up such manliness.

It'll have to be after next weekend, when I've volunteered to wash some outdoor dogs in a bad situation and also help clean up their living space.
I'll be spraying poison ivy dead!

I'm in. I've got the BF's neighbor's puppy "pee-schedule" down-pat so it should be an eay heist.
Oh, his name is "Cowboy." I mean, really!! I would so set up a photo shoot with him wearing a tiny ten-gallon hat, and sitting next to a stuffed horse. But that's just me!

So true. I'll have to give it a jaunty 'to the side' twist so it shows off his chest and he gets to be all festive with a kerchief.
