KurlyKay, I LOVE that picture.
Do you think roseannadana is stalling posting a pic of that little darling in her avatar for fear that I will dognapp the cute little thing?

Oh, I love crows! L.O.V.E. We have regular daily visits from 6 crows - it started with 2, but I guess they're bringing friends now. They're so clever and funny to watch.

B-wavy, I had a pet crow named Leroy. He was so smart and funny and entertaining (and he was an out and out thief. He would steal the earrings right out of your ears if you weren't careful). I loved him.

Leroy!! Jeep, that's so awesome! He looks like a handsome fellow. Did you raise him from a young 'un?
I leave treats for our crows, and for certain things they get so excited, they hop around like little nuts. I noticed if I put an apple out for them, they'd peck at it and eat small bites until one of them could fit the whole thing in his beak and fly off with it. One day I decided to slice up the apple to give all the crows a fair chance. Next time I looked out the window, I saw all the crows excitedly hopping around the yard with apple slices in their beaks. It looked like they all had big, red grins!

Oh mercy, Calvin freaks OUT over crows. In CT it was the chipmunks he was always wanting to kill and here the crows are his focus. Yesterday he saw the shadow of one fly across the yard and he took off barking like a nutjob. He's obsessed.

My crows LOVE it when I throw them some dry roasted peanuts. They seem to be able to see them from miles away.
My husband found Leroy in the woods when he was hunting and he just couldn't leave him so he brought him home. He was just a little baby. So here we are, in the middle of town, a baby crow, many cats, no clue what to do with him. Pre-internet days so a quick run to the library and then to the pet store.
He grew like a weed and soon outgrew a huge parrot cage. In the picture above, he is still young and hadn't learned how to drink water out of a dish so we used a turkey baster to drip water down to him. We put him outside off and on to get used to it. Then one day he flew up to the top of a huge pine tree and couldn't get back down. After a whole day the hubster climbed up that damn tree and got him. hahaha. He soon learned the ropes tho. Every morning he would tap on our bedroom window and we'd let him in for breakfast (raw liver was his favorite). He would steal anything you left laying around. Keys, jewelry, anything shiny. He was a hoot.
He made many friends in the neighborhood. Loved swooping down on dogs and cats. One old guy would bring him a cookie every Saturday morning. The paper girl was afraid of him so I had her feed him a saltine cracker and after that they were buddies.
Ended up taking him to a friend's house in the country where he lived for awhile and then flew off with a flock of wild crows. He was a favorite pet of mine.
I still call all crows Leroy. : )

Will springy or roseannadanna or anyone else please post pics of their pups today? I'm riding a bummer and it would cheer me up.
TIA

Calvin the Magnificent
Jeep, Leroy was one lucky crow. Thank you for sharing that story.
Henceforth, all crows shall be known as "Leroy".
(I used to just call them crow-bows)

Ah, Calvin! Just seeing you made me feel better, too . . .
My little Gracie is having her teeth cleaned today, and the vet just called to tell me he had to pull three more of them. They were already in pretty bad shape, like the rest of her, when she appeared at about 2-1/2 y.o, and the poor baby has lost six now, I believe I was expecting one that he mentioned at her check-up a couple of weeks ago but not three.
Take care of those toofies!

Gracie thanks you for the hug. What a good idea for a treat tonight! . . . or ice cream. She'd love a little of either.

While Ms. Kiki can't express herself as adorably as Calvin and Peanut at the mo, she wants Claudine to feel better, too!
Or both!
Hope little Gracie feels better!

Thank you, too! Yeah, she'd love a LOT of both - she ain't picky except when it comes to her own food.
I see you caught my typo before I did - can't type my own child's name, LOL

Awe, poor Gracie!! We hope she feels better soon!!
My sister had to have all her chihuahuas teeth pulled because they were SO bad and she was like a puppy again it helped her feel so much better. She would barely eat or play before and afterword she was like a spry puppy with an appetite again.
