My loop rabbit.
Yes she stays in the bath at night because she makes too much noise. She uses to suffer from a torticoli this why her head is on the side.

This is not a good pic since I was far away and didn't have my real camera. But the story is kinda cute.
I spend alot of time at a local lake. People bring their dogs there to swim and play. Today I could see this lady with her dog on a long leash. He was walking and jumping around chasing leaves and having a great time. He was black and had a really long tail. Only he wasn't a dog, he was a cat. I've been going to this same spot for over 35 years and have never seen anyone bring their cat there to play. : )

I like the story a lot.
I once saw a lady in Chicago taking her cat for a walk in a baby-wearer (those sling things you wear against your chest for babies to ride in).

I went to the mall (blargh) today and there was a vendor selling sugar gliders there. It appeared to be some sort of traveling display. They were adorable, but I didn't think to take any pictures.
This is what they look like:
I wonder what sort of thought people put into an "impulse" purchase of a small pet like that. One sat on my hand and I really wanted to take him home, but couldn't make that kind of commitment on a random mall trip. It makes me a little twitchy to see pet shop type sellers, but I have no idea about the breeding/housing of these particular little creatures. Anyone have one?

From what I've read, they are very demanding pets.
Their sale (as you've described) is a BAD thing.

I thought that might be the case. I don't have it in me to do any sort of investigation on it tonight. Sigh. The pet "industry" never ceases to depress me.

I'm reading about them too. They are adorable but should be researched thoroughly first. I could see myself having one though. My rat Peaches died a few months ago and while we have others, they aren't as trained as she was. I would take her everywhere. A small animal that lived longer sounds good to me in theory.

I really enjoyed having a turtle. I used to put her in my pocket and let her walk around my desk at a temp job I had. Everyone knew, and brought her treats.

I've been thinking of getting myself another rat for me with it's own cage. The rats we have are in pairs and they bond to eachother more than humans. Plus my son's rats weren't babies when we got them so the bonding really isn't there. I do try and work with them. They'll sit on my shoulder, etc. but they don't behave and are more skittish than Peaches was. I loved taking her on car rides, to the kid's school, etc. I miss my little baby

We have wild flying squirrels here. Mr Jeep and I once rehabbed one for the local wildlife center here. After a week or so we let her out of the cage to join the wild ones that visited our feeder every night.
They are very very cute and do get quite tame after awhile. They would hear Mr Jeep call and would start flying in. They would come very close to taking food out of his hand.
But traveling pet stores sound even worse than a regular pet store.

Pip after his bath.. he got all snuggled up in his towels even though it was probably 90 degrees outside.
