You're not being a Debbie Downer, it's part of life and letting others know is integral to helping get through the grieving and pain, at least that's how I feel about it.

I had a friend who lost her beloved dachshund, Emmett, not long ago. He had a lot of the same problems at Calvin and was only a year older than him so it really hit me hard. I feel so horrible for her.

Sorry about your stray.

I lost my last cat to a similar thrown clot. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Thank you. The doc said its something that goes along with a heart disease that is common in cats. It was just so quick and it was a sad couple of hours.

I had the poor cat tested to see what it died of (we are having problems with rabies here) and she died of FIV. More than likely it has made it's way through the colony which is why I haven't seen any of the other strays (besides Todd who I've seen every day except the last 3). Makes me sad.
But on a happy note, Lisa Loopner showed up tonite! She doesn't seem sick or anything so here's hoping.

Very happy to see Big Head Todd tonight. Just a short visit before he went on his way (enough time to eat a snack, watch the cop cars outside, and roll around on my shoes). At least I know he's ok. I have a feeling he has been 'adopted' by someone else in the neighborhood. Which would make me very happy. Still can't figure out why he's still so dirty tho. : )

I'm glad too! I do hope you're right and he's found another family. And maybe he likes being dirty? Is it possible he's just got gray and brown and it looks like dirt but it's his hair?

No I'm pretty sure he's just plain dirty. But it's part of his charm. : )

I have a question for anyone with a nervous cat...we have had Diesel for about 2 weeks now (he is 13 weeks old) and he still refuses to leave one room...he is obviously less frightened because he will happily be stroked, sleep on the bed and play..but he will not go anywhere else in the house! Any tips?

Try the Feliway diffuser, worked for a cat I had who hid in a closet.

Happy birthday Circee! And omg I completely forgot Dora's 6th birthday last week. I'll have to dress her up in a hat now.

Edit: 7th! It's 2013 dingus.
