I sent the SO those links and he decided to see what Chumba would do with a small box. So he grabbed one and set it out. It was big enough for her to step into and plop her butt in but that was it. She circled around it a little and then just sat there looking around confused.

And to even things out, some old dog pictures.
Ginger, one of my old fosters. We didn't have her for very long.
This is Dolly. We had her for a few years when I was a kid. We inherited her when she was 15 years old. She was sweet, but such a snob! Her previous owner was an elderly woman, and the dog was the only thing she had left in her life. She spoiled her rotten, (standard wise, not bad training). Like for example, for her whole life before us she had weekly salon appointments for her hair and manicures. She even had a very prissy show dog walk she only did in public.
