I don't think he's truly sleeping, springy. That's his "I'm enduring this for your sake only, Dad," face.

Thank you, Ninja...I know you're right and he was trying to spare his dad the humiliation of mom being able to say "I told you SO!!".

Casey used to let SO cut his nails until he cut one too short. Now he runs off when he takes out the clippers and we have to have the professionals do it. Casey does not trust Brian anymore.
And who says dogs do not know what's going on? When I go into the bathroom to get the stuff to clean his ears he runs over to where Brian is sitting and tries to get him to pick him up. It's like he is saying 'SAVE ME FROM HER!!'

Oh, I think dogs know what's going on very well; they just endure it sometimes for our sakes.
That's why they're better in spirit than we are.

Calvin is so cute. I love the pics of the kittens and the bunny. My dog would have a fit if I even thought of getting a cat. Here is my dog asking to get up on the bed.

Thanks! It's aspen (as is the ceiling and walls either side of the fireplace) but it's got a ton of scratches next to the kitchen entry. Scratchy kittehs!
I soo want a little bunny like Gizmo! I don't think Doodle would let it live tho and Hedwig couldn't protect it from him.

Boomer is a good boy. What color would you call his coat? Fawn?
Mine don't wait for permission, let alone an invitation. They'd take over my bed if I let them. Fortunately, I enjoy their company in close quarters.

Casey does the same thing on the hassock in the living room. Waits for me to tap and say up up. Little does he know I bought it for him . I had one in my old apt and when we moved we did not buy one. My daughter came down to get my old set and when Casey saw that old hassock he jumped up on it and immediately layed down. He looked so happy to see it. I went and ordered a hassock to go with our new set the next day.
I am such a sucker. But he knows that is the only furniture he is to get up on and I have never caught him on any other furniture. And he does not always lay his head on it-not sure why he does sometimes and other times he just jumps up.

ninja dog - Boomer is a red and white brindle. He always ask for permission, but it is not unusual to come home early and he is knocked out on the bed. He does take over the bed.
xctpnl- He is only allowed on the bed and one chair in the family room (when invited). It have to tap the cushion/mattress and tell him bed for him to jump up.
FieryCurls- Have you met my dog? Are you stalking us? If it takes a while for me to invite him up he sighs. Just a reminder that he is waiting there patiently.
Kitten wrestling would be awesome! All that pouncing and fur.

He's a brindle? My girls are brindle. He looks solid color. Is it just the pic making him seem that way?
I want to kiss the small white spot on his muzzle.

ninja dog-I need to get an actual camera instead of using my crappy camera phone. So it is not your eyes. You are going to have to push my husband out of the way to get a whack at kissing Boomers muzzle. Hubby does it all the time.
Curlminx- Awww they are adorable. I swear a tired dogs are so cute. It is good to know my dog isn't the only one that likes to pin me down when he gets the chance.
