I gave it a shot. I had no silver strips to put on my nails, so I had to paint the silver lines. I used four shades of purple. From the bottom left, clockwise: Pom Pom, by Cina Glaze; Fowl Play, by Orly; Not Your Mama's Mauve, by Orly; and Lucky Lucky Lavender, by OPI.
Yeah, hate the name and description but love the color!
I love your mani! good job!

I knew you would! I'm hoping to hear about a cheaper dupe soon.
Me, too...I just can't buy anything w/ that description with a little girl who just learned to read in the house...LOL I'm not ready to answer those kinds of questions.
I wonder if You Don't Know Jacques is close.

They're starting to make gel nail kits with LED instead of UV lamps now! There's a brand called Sensationail that's sold at places like CVS for 50 or 60 bucks. If I actually start painting my nails and get into it enough to justify the expense, this actually makes it so I'd consider trying the gel nail thing out.

I took off the polish I did last night because I didn't like the silver lines. This is Trophy Wife, by Essie (I hate the name):

I kind of wish I only put the lines on my ring finger, but I like the blue/green color so I think I'll leave it until it chips.

It doesn't look like it has that sparkly reddish rootbeer brown color. I'm sure someone will come out with a pleasantly-named dupe soon!

Bretty, how did you do the lines? I like both the blue and the purple.

Siri types my posts for me.
I painted the purple first then used two pieces of tape one on the tip of my nail and one slightly below it. Then I painted the silver. I used "shipping tape" this time not to be confused with packing tape (it's thicker and less sticky perfect for tape manis)!

Lol!

I want that one partly for the name and the political hilarity. I can make a political statement without anyone knowing. But, I have no curious young children at home to worry about.

Me: "Remember me telling you what Santorum means?"

DH cautiously: "Uhhhh, yeah....."

Then I went on to tell him about the nail polish and I loved the look on his face.

This blog is hosting a giveaway of some ManGlaze, Santorum included. That blue one looks interesting.

LOL Yeah, weird that it could actually be a nice polish with its connotations. I didn't know what it was either until I googled to find the polish. I guess it's an urban definition though, but I'd still change my name if I were Rick! (or was it named after him? I'm naive)

RCC, thanks for that link!

I was reading it out loud to DH and when I got to this line "Savage created a web site to promote this definition, which became a prominent search result for Santorum's name on several web search engines." I could NOT control my laughter.

Oh, the things you learn online.

Don't get on the bad side of Dan Savage, or your name will be up there with Santorum and Saddlebacking.

I can't believe I forgot to add Layla Hollographics, all of 'em, to my admiration list.

Murrcat- I love the turtle too.

Just read RCC's link and I can't look at the color in the same way. This link has another polish with a similar theme. Who knew there would be more then one.

Thanks for the link RCC, that's what I was thinking.

And I'm officially calling that MG nail color Root Beer from now on!

So, I was reading a nail blog last night about the new China Glaze Capital Hunger Games color Mahogany Magic and someone made mention of another China Glaze color and an Urban Decay color and it made me think of that ManGlaze color picture with the shiny top coat. Not a true dupe but very close to it.
