I have this dotting tool set too. I've only played with it a bit so far. I haven't really used it. But so far, I love it. It makes it much easier to make dots then the DIY tools I was using.
I also plan pastel and dots for Easter. If I get around to it, I'll do a rabbit and a chick on the thumbs.

Jeepy those dotting tools are awesome! I searched amazon and never came across those or else I'd have gotten them cuz there are more sizes! I got these at Michaels (Martha Stewart Crafts Embossling Stylus set $9.99):
And for the Easter nails I plan on pastels with egg type of decorations; dots, stripes, stuff like that. I can't see Bretty's links at work but there are probably some like that in there (?) and I'll check them out at home. Love your nautical nails Bretty! I'm a sucker for deep blue. 
Oh! And if you do shop at Michaels from time to time but don't get the Sunday paper they finally put their coupons on the website! (I have no idea when they did this, I check from time to time if I remember cuz I don't get the paper and just discovered it )

Thank you all so much!
I started out using Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in "Blue It"
 
Although its a beautiful shade it wasn't dark enough for this mani. So I added a layer of Funky Fingers in "Starling" its the perfect deep navy shade with a hint of shimmer. BUT super sheer it takes 4coats to get it opaque! So I never use it with out layering!

Ok, so I got 5 mini polishes at Sally's today. They are pastels so I can do the dotted Easter ones. I feel better that I only spent $5 total instead of $5+ per bottle when I don't wear pastels often. Now I just need to find a dotting tool.

I really must remember to take a pic when it's all new and pretty.
This is my 4-5 day old Sunset manicure. Or maybe Sangria. It reminds me of both of those things, with bonus glitter on the ringie fingie. It's much warmer and not nearly as pink as it looks here.
Zoya Isla, Sooki, Tamsen, and Pia in that order from the cuticle out.

When I was a kid, we dyed our eggs to look like this.
I wanted to do something similar on my nails. I also liked that caviar manicure, and wanted to try it.
I mostly used my Nubar Spring Garden set since it's pastel heavy and had the white I used for the base coat on the eggs nails.
Then I sponged on different colors.
For whatever reason, the effect is more obvious IRL.
I almost wish I hadn't put top coat on the egg nails. Without it, it really had the texture of an egg! I can't wear this long anyway since I did the two beaded nails, so I could've left it off.
