Unless it was something else going on and was a coincidence, painting my fingernails was what caused the peeling for me. It took about six months for it to finally clear up.

The amount of time from slipping on the peel and landing on the pavement is exactly one bananosecond.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

My nails peel whether I paint them or not. The only time my nails have ever been nice is when I was pregnant. I also find it interesting that my toe nails only peel occasionally and I keep them painted almost constantly but they do not take the abuse that my nails do on a constant basis.

I used the impress nails once and really liked them. My mom just did some today that are really cute.

Same here, it's highly annoying, esp since I LOVE polish dammit. My ring & pinky fingers never have that problem (they're like the toenails). I get 60% peeling & 40% not. What.is.up.with.that?

@ Jess- Your moms nails are cute, and snazzy
I did 2 coats of essie mojito madness. I can't say it was a joy to apply but I love the color. I'm pondering using Sinful Colors Miami Heat to break it up a little and I'll be doing my toes with MH later.

I used to have major problems with my nails peeling, I did research to find out what was causing it. Mine was mostly because I have dry nails and I also bite them. I have a son who has a primary Immune defect, so we are OCD about hand washing at my house. I put a lotion next to the soap dispenser and now after washing my hands I use the lotion right away. I wear gloves for any chore around the house too cleaning detergents are very drying. I also started a routine of putting vitamin E oil on my nails 3 times a day, morning, afternoon, and night. I also use a nail straightener/ hardener as my base coat. I curently follow tips I picked up from this GROWING LONG NAILS WITHIN A 2 MONTH PERIOD - YouTube. I did not want to grow them too long, but this has helped my nails greatly!

I almost bought Mojito Madness the other day. I LOVE the color! Did it streak a lot when you were putting it on?

^ It is very thick and gooey, and likes to pool and streak. I had to smooth it out with top coat while it was still tacky.
It is a great color, but will blind you if you take a pic while using the flash.

Last post before I get back to my homework, I swear!
There are always hair growth challenges, is anyone interested in a nail growth challenge? We could start June 1 (or any day really), I'll create a thread if there's interest. I'd like to see if my nails can grow out by moisturizing and using strengthener for a few months. And I'd get in the habit of moisturizing more. I have a theory that I need to do it more than 3 times a day here in the arid southwest.

I was totally jealous of Mom's mails at a baby shower today even if mine were cute too.
I'm definitely up for a nail grow challenge! Mine have been shorter than ever lately.

A nail grow challenge sounds interesting. They grow well enough, but I'm curious to see the rate.
My peelers are the first three fingers of my right hand. I'm sure it's work related with cash registers and opening cases and stuff. My nails are thick enough to handle some peeling, but, the peeling is what usually prompts a trimming.

What a great Idea, Count me in! I was able to grow my nails out in December to March, they were looking real nice and then my pointer broke and it started me at biting them again! I only bite my pointers and pinkies at the moment so this might just give me the motive to stop again! I want pretty nails!

Has anyone tried ProStrong ProAccelerator Fluoride Nail Strengthener? I used it 18+ years ago on peeling and flaking nails (not from wearing polish...only wore polish maybe once a month to every two to three months), and haven't had a problem with my nails in all of these years.
It took about three to four months and maybe six bottles to work. I didn't wear polish during that time, and I still don't...not sure if that has anything to do with no problems.
I bought it from QVC, but I think the company now has its own website.

Polishing my natural nails always makes them weak, and break as well.
My Impressions nails lasted 4 days. I put them on Thursday and took them off today (Monday). I did some dish washing, i'm a frequent hand washer, and I was at the beach. Even still, only one came off, so I took them off for some air. The rest wouldve held on for a few more days I'm sure.
I'm impressed
Worth the money I think. I'd definitely buy them again.
