I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

I hold the brush steady, but rotate my nail. That's easier for me.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
I have some of the Essie Matte topcoat. It's pretty nifty.

I do lazy clean up. In the shower or when washing hands, scrape off the polish on the skin with another nail or maybe a tooth pick or a orange stick. IDK that I recommend this, but it is what I do.
edit: This is my answer to a question that apparently no one is asking. *smacks head*

springy,
Some of my nail colors stain immediately (all different brands, mostly pink, red, or blue) Others can be on there for weeks and never stain. It's kind of a gamble.
I don't use base coats or top coats and just use cheap nail polish remover and rarely have a problem. The stains on skin comes right out with a good scrubbing with soap. Stained nails just kind of have to wear off.

Thank y'all for all the suggestions/tips/ideas!

Bretty, that made perfect sense. You're a very good explain-er.

I don't think my remover has acetone, maybe I should get a small bottle just for those occasions.

I use nail magic as my base coat.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
^^ Not a rebel. Just cheap and lazy. (I almost said cheap and easy which would also be true. hahaha.)
My nails always look good despite using cheap nail polish and cheap polish remover and no base or top coat. It just works for me so I keep doin it that way.

Sinful Colors Polar Opposites, about 5$ at Target. This is my first magnetic polish, but the magnet seems very strong. It worked easily for my very curved nails. If you buy a bottle, make sure you get a magnet ring (2nd pic). The rings were missing from many bottles at my Target. It has a blue shimmer, so it looks blue in outdoor light and gray in indoor light. I really like this polish.

I think I will try this over the weekend with colours I posted earlier. I need more mattes! Or maybe just tonnes of that Essie.

@Jeep: It's beautiful and would totally rock it for Halloween, but it would take forever to dry and I cannot keep my fingers still for too long

(who knew my stinkin phone would be the best prop for this?)

I'm just not a fan of the black chunky holo, it looks like the nail is dirty no matter how many coats. Probably should just use it over black.

Can I gripe & complain? Bella told me she opened Sea Creature (from Etsy seller) and it looked weird. Yup, all dried up. I dumped a bunch of CG strong adhesion into it. Thinking about dumping the whole thing into an empty commercial bottle once it's all mixed up again just in case.

Oh and need itty-bitty ball bearings, if anyone has a source can you throw it my way?

Hard Candy (Walmart, 4$) has a matte top coat that I've used and think works great. NYC has a matte top coat that is even cheaper and gets good reviews.

The best value would be getting a matte topcoat. Then you can make any polish look matte.

I've not gotten into etsy indie lines yet because I've worried about quality. Plus, so many just do odd glitter combos.
