What nail polish do you have on at the moment?

I used Wet n Wild Black Creme over my old mani to do a ruffian. I think I could actually do it if I were using a polish with a wide, flat brush (like the one used in the video). I'll try that next time. I'll also use a polish near the cuticle that doesn't blend with my skin color so much. Here is the tutorial I used.

The second pic is Zoya Laney stamped with Zoya Noel. I'll probably change it soon. Stamping makes me swear. The stamp size is too small for my thumb. I can't double stamp to save my life. My nails curve a lot from side to side and front to tip, so I have to rock and press a lot as I stamp. From now on with whole nail stamps, I think I'll plan on stamping with black and adding a french tip for the ends of the nail where the stamp doesn't cover the nail.

I'm not a fan of stamping or nail stickers (the ones that cover the whole nail) but I love little decals. Easy to put on and they stay on forever. I forgot to get some for Christmas nails this year!
I love the wide flat brush in Sally Hansen Insta Dry polishes. When I have to use other brands I am a total clutz with those skinny brushes.
I also love my dotting tools.

--I found NC in late 2004, CG since 2-2005, started going grey in late 2005.
--My hair is 3B with some 3A, texture-medium/fine, porosity-normal except for the ends which are porous, elasticity-normal.
--My long time favorite products are Suave & VO5 conditioners, LA Looks Sport Gel, oils, honey, vinegar.

Where do you buy your tools/decals?

Pedaheh your stamping looks awesome!

I've gotten decals at CVS and the Dollar Store and also on Ebay. I think I got my dotting tools on Ebay also. It's like this set - 5 x 2 Way Dotting Pen Marbleizing Tool Professional Nail Art Design Tip Set Dot | eBay
I've never seen them locally here. But they sure do the job and are well worth finding. I don't do much fancy stuff but I love doing dots and decals.

I got this stamper and I'm happy with it: Amazon.com: Konad Nail Art Double Ended Stamper And Scraper: Beauty
Not from that seller, but just search for it.

For stamping polishes, I have used Milani Signature Gold and Zoya Trixie, but if you search around the web, you can get other color recommendations.

I have found tons of the stickers in drug stores,
Sally's and you can order packs on line.

* the combo brush/dotting tool I bought at Sally's was $7 so a set of many brushes and dotting tools for $15 is a fantastic deal. They are pretty good brushes.

Thanks all! I am always impressed by the nail art on this thread and love sharing your ideas with my girls.

Now back to your regularly scheduled nail posts.

These were supposed to be Christmas lights, lol. You can tell that I'm out of practice. It's been some time since I've done finer detailed nail art.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
My sister did Christmas lights the other day. They were so cute! I think she used some Sally Hansen nail art pens for hers.

I have some awful Christmas trees at the moment (they're so lopsided!), but I'm going to switch to a nice gradient later today with Zoya Crystal, Trixie, and Ziv.

I did the gradient this afternoon. It's more subtle than I thought it would be.

Here's a different twist on the candy cane nail:
Sephora

You could also use striping tape if your hands aren't steady enough for freehand or you don't have a tiny brush.

I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

I painted my nails with Nicole Enchanted on Sunday and had every intention of doing nail art over it, but I have not been able to. The color is so pretty. I love the way it changes in different lights, and it is holding up very well.

I still plan on using it as the base for the nail art I have planned, when I can stand to paint over it.

Has anyone tried the Nuance Salma Hayek nail laquer line? The bottles are pretty!

My brother bought my SIL the Red Carpet Manicure Pro 45 Starter Kit for Christmas, and I picked up a polish that's compatible with the system for her today. I actually wanted to get two but couldn't bring myself to drop $30 on two polishes, so I'm thinking of throwing in one from Hayek's line. Apparently there are methods of curing regular polishes and producing the gel look with those systems.

Think I'll try this next. I'm running out of Christmas designs. I'm not very good at free hand so I cannot do fancy art
