My nails are naked! They were starting to peel really badly lately, so I cut them nice and short and I'm focusing on moisturizing them more. I ordered some Nail Aid peeling treatment, but that website seems super slow. I placed the order on Tuesday and haven't heard boo about when it will ship.

We should do a natural nails week or something once a month where we try to convince each other/encourage each other not to paint our nails. Moral support in essential in resisting the urge.

nyn, I could have written this post a month ago, then again today, but I have the nail aid now. I think it took a week or so to arrive. I was disappointed this morning when I removed my polish and saw how much peeling there was, but I've only been using the product 2-3 weeks. I probably have to be patient for the worst if the damage to grow out.
kayb, it's really hard to go a week without polish!

I haven't gotten my Zoya's yet.
Have any of you tried Sonia Kashuk polishes? I just bought Dime a Dozen - a pretty but unusual shade.

It makes our nails peel? Yellow? Wither and die?

I've never had those issues, I promise. I always use a base cost which keeps the yellowing at bay, and I keep my nails short which may be why they don't peel or split.
I go barenekkid-nails maybe a couple days every three or so months.
I don't know about withering and dying. I've had a constant pedicure for probably ten years and my toenails haven't withered (and technically our nails are dead anyway, I think...).
Also? You know you're an addict when you have a response for everything!

I cut my nails almost to the quick and buffed out the remaining peeling so they should be good going forward.
I'm really bad about remembering to moisturize after dishes and hand washing, but I'm trying to be better. When I'm consistent, it does make a huge difference. My other issue is the cuticles (especially on my thumbs and pointer fingers) are a hot mess lately. I know that's a moisture issue, too, so hopefully both problems will clear up soon.

My toenails are naked for the first time in probably 40 years! I was about to paint them after I got my fingers done and I just thought "maybe you poor piggies could use a break". It is so flippin weird looking at them with no color.
I won't ever go with naked fingernails tho. That would be like going without jewelry. It would make me uncomfortable.

I'm with PH! My nails are healthy (I use good brands, 3+free) and I only ever get breaks when they are naked. Polish protects them. I don't always wear polish, sometimes I just don't get the time, and that's usually when I get breaks. (or when I run them into something hard) I don't ever get yellow nails either, base coat!
polish! polish! polish! I realized I need to start weekly manis (I often go 10 days) even if the mani looks good, just so I can use all my colors within a year! Even then, I won't get through them all; I should change every 5 days. But some of them are more for stamping, nail art and accents anyway.

I envy all of you with good, healthy nails. I've been dealing with peeling for years. Many, many years. About five years ago, I got it under control using biotin,nailtiques2 and nail oil. It took months! Lasted about a year, then it started up again. The nailtiques doesn't work anymore for me, but the biotin does make them and my hair grow faster and the oil keeps the cuticles looking better.
I'm trying the Nail Aid Peeling Nails now. If some of us are up for a bare nail week challenge, I'm in, as long as I can use the treatment. But, I ordered some Zoya polishes, too, so I don't think I can go longer than that before digging into the new colors
