I was at Sally's yesterday and noticed they have a pretty full compliment of both Orly and China Glaze. I've never used China glaze before, so I bought their black (Liquid Leather). I'm pretty hooked on black polish right now, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Meh. It's no better than Orly's Liquid Vinyl, which I've been wearing for a while. It took me three coats to get good coverage and I still have lousy coverage on at least one nail. All of which won't be that big a deal to me if the wear is better. That's the problem with the Orly-- great color, great shine, good coverage, but it chips almost immediately.

I also bought Orly's Wild Wistera, because it's the closest purple I've found to Raven's Purple, and that'll be fun. I'll give it a go next week sometime.

I'm wearing black glitter, and it's no joke with the glitter! Pics tomorrow when we have light.

I did get a couple of indoor shots tonight. These eco friendly bulbs give some ugly light.

I'm trying out the Fortress Collection from Nubar. It has five grey cremes, a metallic grey shimmer, a black/charcoal grey shimmer, and a dark grey/black with silver glitter.

Of course, I wanted to start with the glitter! This is Knight's Armor. The base looks like a very dark grey to light black. It is packed with square silver glitter. This is not a sophisticated or elegant color. It's loud and proud. The first coat was sort of sheer in the base with lots of glitter. Two coats made everything look fine.

Some of the glitter has a matte grey look to it, while some of it blings straight up silver. This has more to do with how close to the surface the glitter is than the actual color of the glitter. All of the glitter is silver.

This could get good use for some in the Halloween season. It's the heaviest glitter I've seen when I compare it to black glitters I've seen online.

I can't wait to get some daylight shots to really see this color. I think I'm really going to enjoy it!

I have to get pictures of my toes! Sally Hansen Prismatic in Turquoise Opal it's green & purple.

Nevermind taking pictures, I found these, and they show the color much better than any of my attempts.

Is Prismatic the same as a duochrome or is it a holo? Either way, it sounds neat!

ETA.
I posted before the pics went up.

It looks like a duochrome with holo flecks. That's really cool!

I've only tried the one I posted recently. It wasn't drying at all, but my nails do run on the oily side. I used the Nubar base and top coat with it.

The only issue I had is when I did dishes at work without gloves. The color was almost a week old by then, and the detergent in the industrial grade stuff used at work made the polish peel off. I'm not sure if it was the polish or the detergent.

I've never noticed it being drying, and I never (or very very rarely) use a base or top coat. 2-3 shades of polish and I'm done.

Duochromes make me happy. I have a pretty purple/green one from Zoya called Adina that's similar to yours, TRBL. The purple is a little on the bluer side than the Sally Hansen one. I wore it all last week.

How does your polish stay on without a base or topcoat? My nails can't hang with straight polish.

Just an fyi, it's sally hansen prism (not prismatic), my mistake. Also, I purchased mine about a bazillion years ago, I don't know if they still make it.
