I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

It was fascinating. The outset is just like a regular mani-- remove my polish, soaked my fingers, shaped my nails and trimmed my cuticles. Then she cleaned and dried my nails really thoroughly, and the fun began.
One layer of UV base coat and then the hand went in a little UV light oven for twenty seconds. Then a layer of color which looked really thin and not particularly pigmented, and back in the oven for two minutes. A second layer of color looked much, much better, and back in the oven for two minutes. And then a layer of UV top coat, and back in the oven for two minutes.
After all that, she cleaned a sort of sticky layer off the surface of my nails and lotioned up my hands. I thought it was weird that she was doing the lotion/hand massage part of the mani AFTER the polish, but the polish was hard, dry, and glossy. And not just Dry Enough, they were stone hard.
I've been wearing my nails short lately, but if you prefer your nails longer this would be GREAT on long nails-- I imagine they'd feel invincible. But my nails are pretty strong on their own so that may not be the case for everyone.
24 hours later and they look 100% fresh, just done. Still super glossy. Of course it's only been a day, but on my fingers a regular mani would start to wear. There are no flaky edges I can pull at, I can't imagine the ends chipping or cracking. It's on the thick end of the polish spectrum, and sealed onto my nails in a really unique way.
I'm fascinated by it. I usually go through phases with nail color, I'll go six months without even thinking of wearing any and then I'll go another six months religiously wearing polish. But this might be a game changer for me. I might find myself actually wanting to pay the cash to get a mani on a regular basis-- it's not wildly expensive at my salon.
Sorry it's blurry....

You are very welcome! I love their promos.
I have on Zoya Noel. It is a fantastic blue. I can't get a good pic so here's one from the web.
Thank you to this thread. I never would've gotten back in to wearing polish and I definitely wouldn't have tried colors like this.
I'm also really excited. I'm on day three of this mani and no chips, just tiny wear on some edges. That's after I did a thorough house cleaning today. My last mani lasted 4 days and I only re-polished because I wanted to try out my new colors. I NEVER had polish last that long.

Jess, that's great that you've tried new things, and that your manicures are lasting longer.
I know what you mean about trying new things. I never would have tried a moon manicure or a water marble before this thread. Also I never would have learned to check formulas of polishes to see how they would work.
Now I seem to have figured out what types of formulas work best for me.
Side note. Siri changed moon manicure to married man. Glad I caught that. I never would have tried a married man would look pretty funny!

I love this color! I am currently wearing Essie School of Hard Rocks on my fingers. I like it, it seems like a good fall counterpart to the light blues and turquoises I am partial to. I have NYC Battery Park Purple on my toes.
I have always had my toes polished (I think they look weird without) but I haven't worn any on my fingernails in years, I am sure I started again because of this thread.

I'm wearing Lauren by Zoya right now... Very pretty! Not too noticeable, just enough to give my nails a little bit of color and shimmer. It makes me feel... Sophisticated!
Also, since it's a nude color, my right hand more or less looks the same as my left (for once!), because you really can't see the imperfections! Or maybe I'm just getting better at painting with both hands...
Nah, probably not.

Can you post a pic of your nails? There are so many variations of the color in online pics that I've googled, and the color looked very gray when I saw it in the store.

Nails inc. magnetic polish in color houses of parliament. I've gotten a ton of compliments and it was really fun to see the pattern after putting the magnet over it.

Thanks! Nice color, looks like grayed out teal. Touch up those tips! You can probably salvage that for a few more days.
