I've put it over a dark blue, and it looked like space, like nebulas. Really fun. It also looked really fall-like over a dark brown, all the oranges and greens stood out more. It's great stuff.

The only time I didn't like it was over purple. It turned very pink and shimmery, which is not my style at all.

sew and sew, that's such an accurate description, it really does remind me of analog TV snow! Love it.

I did a holiday manicure and had my first experience with a striper bottle.

I used Nubar Greener for the green base, Nubar Silver Glitter for the accent nail, Sinful Colors Nail Art in Bad Chick to draw the bows, and Nubar Gold Glitter for the dot in the middle of the bow.

I used the Christmas Giftwrap nail tutorial from MissChievous on YouTube to see how to make a bow.

Left thumb.

Right thumb. Harder to do this with my left hand, lol.

I think of it as a Christmas tree with tinsel and a present underneath.

That is adorable RCC. Sadly, it is way beyond my skill set.

I tested out two of the polishes I got on CVS clearance. I have Rimmel Gold Silk on my toes and Revlon Emerald City (matte finish) topped with Hard Candy matte topcoat. I like both colors. I tried my nail stamping kit for the first time. I'm going to need a lot more practice. In theory, the stamps were supposed to look like snowflakes. The big pic shows the color on my toes, but they are not my nails.

I also have Essie Shine of the Times (the one that is like sally hansen hidden treasures). I've played a little. So far I liked it over this green, a redish bronze, and a hot pink. Wasn't bad over white either. I'll have to try it on blue and purple and see what I think. I didn't like it on red at all.

Oh, if I can do it, it's not beyond anyone's skill set! Lol.

I did practice on some paper before I did the bow on my nail.

I like the snowflake stamping. I've always wanted to try stamping kit. I keep thinking them going to smear it though.

Question

I can't decide how to wear my China Glaze Twinkle Lights first?

(not my nails)

Alone like this:

Or over red polish, like this (although the red glitter gets lost):

I wish my Zoya Trixie I ordered was here already. Then I'd do it this way (her pinky and middle fingers):

What do you think? Votes!

Our of the three, I like the first one best. Red might work better if it's a cream. I'd like to see it over a medium to dark green, but I like green.

Another vote for the first one. It's really pretty on its own. If I was itching to mix it up I might do something amidst it with white polish.

I was thinking a little dove in the middle of the my nails with the Rockstar Pink would be a nice look. But there's no way I can execute a little dove A little splotch, sure..

I did some Zoya Adina last night. I'll probably do something more festive this weekend.

While browsing the web and seeing different pics, I think I'm leaning more towards the Twinkle Lights alone.

Ok, I don't know what the HELL I'm doing wrong, but no attempt at painting my nails is coming out at all.

CL, if you use the twinkle lights I hope you have better luck than I did. I put on a base coat, twinkle lights then tried a top coat and it was a jacked up MESS. I didn't think I'd ever get it all off, it's like it just wouldn't dry.

So then I decided to try my Zoya polishes and I don't know if I'm using the wrong base coat or what, but it's like nothing wants to dry even thought I'm using my little nail dryer and waiting in between coats.

Apparently I'm just very nail polish inept. If the Zoya would dry right it would be very cute...I'm about to remove it and try again.

RCC, your Christmas nails are adorable!!

Thanks ladies!

Spring, what base and topcoats are you using? I've read that Zoya recommends their own base and top, but am not sure if it really makes a difference.

How long do you wait between coats? Is it humid?

It's probably a patience issue on my part.

I'm using Nail Magic all in one I got at Sally Beauty and it's pretty chilly in the house so that may not be helping.

I've got them done and am trying to chill and let them dry which of course makes me think of eleventy billion things all of a sudden I want to do. I took pics and will post after they're dry enough to actually touch the camera and upload pics.

I use Zoya polishes with the Essie rapid dry top coat and it dries great.

Nubar dries quickly, so I'm no help.

I did read that each color coat should dry for at least 10 minutes, so that's what I do between color coats.

spring1 - I've been using OPI Start to Finish base&top coat with my Zoya polishes, or any polish lately. It's been fine. That's strange that your polishes aren't drying.

So I'll try the Twinkle Lights later on its own. I do think it looks good on its own in the pics online, I hope I can apply it well enough. And I hope it doesn't give me problems either! I'll let you know.
