Betty White is 90 years old. She gets a muu muu pass from me.

My mom got married in a muu muu. I'll have to snap a pic.
My fat thumb will make mistakes.

Absolutely. She can wear whatever she damn well pleases.
But I kind of suspect that in real life, if she wore a mumu, she probably wouldn't wear it with sneakers.

Yay -----thanks, Jeepy!
It's her approach to muu-muu wearing that makes her a winner in my book.

Yeah if anybody can get away with wearing a mumu it's Ms. White.
I still can't get over that she is 90! She looks great.

Every time I open this thread I have flashbacks to when I was a kid and mom wore them around the house. Such memories.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

My mom did too. She sewed them herself -- she liked to be comfortable when she was home.

I'm almost 51 but feel 90 sometimes. Can I wear one around the house? They look damned comfortable.

Yes, in the house, but no trips out to the mailbox in your muu muu until you are at least 70.

My mom did too but we (or mom actually) called them housecoats. Are housecoats a different fashion statement than a Mumu?

To me a housecoat was the type that buttoned up the front. Sorta like this:

Yes, exactly. A muumuu to me is without a fastening in the front, and usually in a splashy print.

Did you find that pic in one of those senior citizen catalogs? For some reason those catalogs use younger people in most of the pictures, especially the underwear pictures.
