Nope. This appears to be a gem sweater and not a muumuu.
But it has a zipper! Can't it at least be a sequined jacket?
Honestly, I don't know what to make of it. It looks like something the well-off older matrons of the suburb I grew up in would wear to the mall before it opens, in which to walk laps and work their shriveled, over-privileged hearts.

A ruana is a shawl that is poncho-shaped and open in the front, so, yes, that is a ruana. The word/garment is South American (Peru/Colombia), so I don't think it's in contention as a over-muumuu.

The backwards apostrophe is actually a letter of the Hawaiian alphabet. It represents the glottal stop, which is the "separating syllables" sound you'd make if you said mu-u as two syllables. There's something in the back of your throat (ie, your glottis) that closes right when you say it.
Ah, the glottal stop. I haven't heard it mentioned in years.

It's right. The word is Hawaiian, and is sometimes written mu'umu'u. I guess because the Hawaiian language sounds out all syllables (like Hawai'i). I wasn't going to correct the massive misspelling that's been going on here the past few days, because that would be rude, so I just started writing it out as muumuu, and some seem to have picked up on it.
I was just spelling it how spell check told me to. Spell check prefers muumuu. But I will more than likely go back to mumu because I like it better.

I like kurtis which are similar to that, but are not open in front.

I really hate the flyaway look. It looks unkept or something.

This is a poncho. Not a mumu. But it does hide the flab much like a mumu.

I have no idea.. I found it on ebay, I think I just typed in sequined jacket. I can't tell how enjoyable it has been to look for bad clothes online today. Although I don't think the ruana I posted was bad, just different.

I don't want to buy it, but how much was it? It looks oddly valuable.

Wow! You look fabulous. The hat. The poncho. The hair. The BOOTS!

I can honestly say this is the first time I've actually seen a pancho and wanted one.
