Default Do you wash Swiffer Dusters?

The ordinary ones, I mean, that come 3 to a box. It doesn't say they are washable, but then it seems extraordinarily expensive to just throw them out when they get soiled.

?? Ideas ??

nah i just toss them but i only use them when im doing my tv stand with everything on it, computer and lastly the fan arms?

otherwise if it's a light coating of dust i use a rag cause you're right they do get expensive.

i hate dust!!! we had a bird flying around my job today no idea how it got in, and it was flying onto the light fixtures which are 30 or so feet in the air so of course they dont get dusted...thick thick clods of dust were falling down making us run away. we felt itchy and were coughing and sneezing.

no idea what happened to the damn bird too lol

Empressri, thank you! I'll save my swiffers for special dusting problems.

A bird? Eek! I don't have screens on all my windows - I think I need to get them because I always worry a bird will fly into my apt. (or worse - a wasp!). I had a bumble bee once. Oy.

CP, you can buy washable refills on eBay and probably elsewhere, maybe somewhere like Etsy. People make them and sell them, less waste!

Also, any of the store brands I've tried have worked just as well as Swiffers.

Rou, I need something I can put on a stick - like the swiffer duster so that I can use it on things like blinds. I've tried a microfiber cloth on blinds but it's hard to maneuver without the stick attached. Maybe I could tape it on ?

I use the ones from the dollar store...3 refills per box so it's not that bad.

And now I'm off to search Etsy...

I have to find a dollar (or 99 cent) store in my area. Sounds good. Thanks, Jess.

But how do you attach the cloths to the duster? Do they have an opening so you can stick them on?

I use a microfiber cloth for dusting, and washable cloths from eBay for my Swiffer mop.

Right. I'm still not sure how you get the microfiber cloths attached to the swiffer thing??

Or maybe you don't need that - I need it for the blinds.

I just hand-dust with the microfiber cloth. But they do make washable Swiffer Duster refills.

I only use swiffer dusters around my electronics in areas that I can't reach with my hand. For regular dusting, I find they don't work as well as a damp micro fiber cloth. Maybe I have mutant dust or something!

Although it's more likely that I dust so rarely that the swiffers can't handle it!
