Aww, you ladies are so sweet. Thanks!
Curlyhoneyb, both those dresses sound really cute, so I hope you post pics.
Munchy, I got it at Anthropologie. Shocking, I know. On sale, too, which was great.

RCC, I can so see you rocking the print. I think it would look fabulous on you!

I'm in love with this dress. It's on sale right now so I'm pretty tempted to get it. dELiAs > Floral-Print Strapless Dress > dresses > casual

Okay it's on sale and now I'm convinced it's too young for me. I'm 53 with flabby upper arms meaning that I'd need a sweater. So I should forget it right? right?

It all depends on your confidence level.

I'd get it.

I like both of these... but I think I'm leaning towards the black.

(Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to paste the picture... or it just wasn't letting me).

Sorry in advance for the size of these pics.

Got this from Old Navy

I also got this dress from Ann Taylor loft in Rosy Cheeks.

I just bought this one at Kohl's. It doesn't look like much in the picture, but it's very pretty on. The colors are dark green and sea blue with black, on cream.

I opted for this one. Against my dark brown skin, this color will be pretty. I'll need a sweater or shawl, but I think I can make it work. It's JCrew and just $29 so if it doesn't work, I haven't lost that much money.

My mom gave me this dress but I don't know how I feel about it. I don't even know what kind of shoes I would wear with the dress.

I tried this dress on today. I love it, but it's not in my budget.

Reviving last years' summer-dress thread...anyone have anything new (or new-ish) to show?

I loved my Lands' End dress last year in navy, so I just ordered the same style, only in a print, and in a cotton-silk lawn rather than just cotton. Regularly $120 but on sale for $40 with free shipping. Kinda happy.

This is my current favorite! I just wore it to a wedding. The shoes were a bit tough to walk in but oh well. I love yellow, haha

I love that dress! I tend to not buy things from stores I can't go to and try it on first because everything is too long, which means they want my boobs to be at my waist and my waist to be at my crotch.... but it's tempting to try ordering that one anyway.

From a local store.

Please ignore the wrinkly shower curtain.

That dress is empire cut, and it's definitely empire on me (in my navy version, I'm hoping this one is the same), but I'm long-waisted, so I'm not sure how it would be on someone short-waisted. It's above-the-knee in length, and I'm 5'2". I wish it were a tad bit longer, but I live with it. Lands' End stuff is "Guaranteed. Period.", so you can always send it back if it's not right...or return it to your local Sears store, for free shipping. No risk!
