Who has DVR service?

Is it complicated and difficult to operate and program? Is it worth it? Any advice? My VCR is on its last legs and outdated technology anyway. Should I get DVR? TIA

Love, love, love my DVR!! It is super easy to program and worth every single penny!
DVR is really easy to use. I love it! It's so much easier to use than a VCR, all I have to do is hit record on my TV remote.

It's great because you can set your favorite show to record everytime it's on, and even if the network changes the time on you, the show will still record. You can have lots of programs stored on your TV to watch at a later time, like a library and no messing around with tapes.

You can also pause, rewind and fast forward live TV, even if you aren't recording it, which is nice.
This is basically DirecTV's version of TiVo right? I was thinking of signing up too.

Hubby checked into it & said it was $15/mo
He's not sure about going to Best Buy [or similar place] & buy one outright...:dunno:

TIVO's easier to use, but Time Warner DVR has more options and it ended up being cheaper.

I still miss my TIVO
When you get that DVR, you will kick yourself for having lived without it for so long.

Have fun shopping!
Have it, love it. I had tivo for years and then switched to DVR because I could have 4 at once (verses just 2 with tivo). Yes, I am ridiculous , but I can record EVERYTHING in any room! Yipeeeeeeee!

I don't like Mom's Tivo, love my DVR. I ordered it off the website and it was installed the next day. I just have one in the living room, Katie has to do without she just has her own receiver. Well not now it got pulled because her grades suck. I have DirecTv it is one of those things you wonder how you lived without it.

Only a braindead moron wouldn't know how to use a dvr.

Love my DVR. I rent mine through Comcast. It's essentially idiot-proof, and since I have no social life, that's when I catch up will all the stuff I've recorded over the week.
