^^I haven't watched the remake. The original version was so perfect to me that I see no reason to watch a remake. I liked all three Girl movies in the series but the first one was especially awesome. The scenery alone makes the movie wonderful. Warning tho, parts of this are hard to watch (possibly the same in the remake).
I kinda feel the same way about my favorite movies. I won't watch the remakes of Footloose or Carrie. I did watch the remake of The Karate Kid because it was such a different story. Still not as good as the first one tho. And I think I saw at least part of the remake of Psycho. Just can't beat the original.

Jeepy, I am not a fan of remakes either. Occasionally they do the original justice, but it is rare. I really don't know why there is such an obsession with remaking movies, that do not need to be remade. Most are pathetic attempts.
I am watching New Girl. I just realized that had watched one or 2 episodes, and that was it. I honestly need to turn off the tv and start cleaning for holiday company.

I've seen both Girl movies, and I'd say both were excellent. The American version is not exactly a remake, because each movie highlights different elements of the book.

Hmmmmm.
I think I'll stop with this version. It was tough enough to get through once.
Thanks for the info., all.
Has anyone seen "Tree of Life"? No spoilers, please, but is it worth watching?

Adam is a good enough reason on his own.
I watched the Voice, after it aired so I could fast forward often and now I am catching up on Once Upon A Time
Feelings on 666 Park Ave? I watched the first few ep's and have not watched the rest. It wasn't fully catching my attention. Did it get better?

I WANTED to love 666 Park Avenue, but it's just too slow with too many mysteries going on all at once. Gave up on it. Also gave up on Vampire Diaries and Once Upon a Time. I loved them both the first year then lost interest. Always makes me a little sad when that happens.
Nothing going on at work so I'm catching up on comedies - 2 Broke Girls (always some lines that make me burst out laughing), Go On, Raising Hope, The New Normal, How I Met Your Mother, Mike and Molly (some great lines this week too), Happy Endings.

Thanks Jeep. I was curious. I had not heard much of a 'buzz' about it.
I just put in The Family Stone. I love this movie. I am busy and can not fully pay attention, but I have seen it 20 times so that's okay.

I was thinking about doing a Harry Potter marathon with my nephews tonight but I can not find copy of The *philosophers Stone (Ha! I have looked at too many kids movies today) and for some reason it is unavailable on Instant Video. Dang it!!
So I will be watching Brave again.

Hated it.
Thought the photography was lovely, though --- just not as part of this message.
