I don't know, it's just so....weird. LOL It's often uncomfortable to watch just because there are so many awkward situations. I'd say give it a try and see what you think then I might have someone to talk to about it. I'm pretty sure Mr. Spring only tolerates watching it because there is some nakedness. haha
I will watch a couple episodes soon and get back to you.

I subjected myself to "Letters to Juliet" based on the recommendation of my 12 year old niece, so we'll have something to talk about at her birthday lunch next week.

It was dumb, and romantic, and cornball-city, but J Tap-Dancing C, the picture was sharp and the colors beautiful.

(And just in case anyone wonders but is too shy to ask, based on the previews included, the movie "Ghost" about a ghostwriter is completely unrealistic and absurd. Moronically so, in fact. Plus it's by Roman Polanski, a hateable person indeed.)

That would be the one. She played in the first couple Twilights and was in a TV show about doctors that only lasted one season.

Springy watching Hope Springs I love that movie. I thought about it last night when I watched part of Practical Magic.

I just started the first ep of Cult.

While I wait for it to warm up (just a little more) I am going to watch Bella Fleck: Throw Down Your Heart. I think it will be interesting. It is a documentary about a trip to Africa to rediscover the banjo's musical roots. I think my dad would have loved this, though he would have been livid over "one of the worlds greatest musicians" being said when speaking Bella Fleck.

Fifi, thanks for mentioning that, I just put it on our Blockbuster list. Mr. Spring messes around with the banjo so he's interested in seeing that. When I asked him if he'd seen it he started in on a history lesson, lawd help me.

Hey, I played the banjo, too. I think it either grabs you or it doesn't. It was hard work, learning to play.

Bela F. has so modernized it. I'll bet that's a good movie.
------------------------
I watched "Dark Shadows" again, on the new TV. There was so much I missed on the old one. I may have a vampire day and watch "Let the Right One In" again, also. Or maybe not.

I think some epic from MGM involving chariots and gladiators may look fabulous on this screen, but I always worry about the horses.

Haha. I had many history lessons growing up. My dads mother taught him to play, at 8. She taught him about the original gourd banjo, to wooden, addition of animal skin heads, removable necks, additions of strings, etc. It is interesting to see the changes/evolution of instruments through out the years.

This is a very good movie. Many, many smiles. Ah, music

Claudine, it is a hard instrument to learn. You are right, people love or hate it. *I am you can contribute part of that to it being called the 'instrument of the lower class', for many many years. There are too many banjo jokes to count* I was not fond of it in my youth, but I was woken up by it at 3am. Lol. Loudest instrument on the planet.

Deadly 60. It's a children's wildlife programme but really good. Today we're looking at the most dangerous animals in South Africa. The macro focus and slow motion is amazing. Needless to say it's a BBC production.

I have yet to find a wildlife programme that's better than those made by the BBC.
