Downton Abbey and I have never been so addicted to a series in my life. Those clothes!!! Those jewels!!! Those furnishings!!! Not to mention all the drama. Sucking it up - wish it would run forever.

Just finished Downton. My mouth is just hanging open and I want to go and fix that problem that surfaced towards the end of the episode.

Last night I watched a few episodes from dark comedy and comedy/horror shows that previously aired on BBC 2.

I am finally getting ready to watch Carrie 2013. This one has received several good reviews. It's apparently more of a re imagining than a re make, which I think helps. Any remake has failed miserably.
When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

I truly loved Downton the first season and I still am addicted to it, but it's just not as wonderful to me now since they have gone forward in time and gotten rid of the horses and carriages, etc. I still have a crush on Mr Bates tho. : )

I did laugh watching the episode before last of Downton with my Aunt. Both her and my mother are obsessed with it and several other BBC shows. One has a post office, one is about a priest. Idk. My Aunt was adorable, though. She was sucked in and gasping. Occasionally she would look at me and I would like.. Oh, yes! Gasp. I really have no idea wth is going on. This one is depressed and a crappy mom, that nanny is evil, oh look a snitch, valentines day card mystery! Not a good starting point.

Like CP I did spend much of my time looking at the manor they are restoring and the costumes. Is the detail on her coat embroidered? I think it is. That is stunning.

I absolutely love the costumes and the great house they are filming at. Gorgeous!

I also love other BBC shows. I feel like I should live in Britain I am so addicted to their shows/movies!

I am honestly a fan of most period dramas. Most are gentle. Love several of the actors in DA, and have seen them in several different things, but something about me keep finding it lacking in that something which pulls me in.

Still have not made it to Carrie yet, but I am working on. Want to finish getting the house in order before I become a potato.

The Walking Dead. I watched the first 3 seasons, read the recap on season 4, and I'm watching them. I'm just a punk. I had to know what happened before I could bring myself to watch, LOL.

Smash. I didn't think I would like it but I do :-)

Carrie is pretty good. It's hard to beat Piper Laurie or Sissy in the 1976 version.

As much as I love Patricia Clarkson, the 2002 remake was... I don't even remember it. Just that it was really bad

I will say the 2013 version is not a re-imagining, as I earlier read. It is almost exactly the same dialog. Everything from

"First comes the blood and then comes the boys" to "I can see your dirty pillows". It's just set in more recent times, and the way the characters are portrayed are a little different. A little more complex, but still crazy.

Best remake so far, but I think it's time Hollywood put's this baby to bed. The original is a much loved classic. It always will be, and will forever remain the best.

Why have they been so obsessed with remaking everything from the 70's and 80's since the early 2000's? They sincerely need to stop. Footloose... Pathetic! Karate Kid... Meh. But there was no need. You can't mess with greatness.
