Know anyone here who fits this definition?

I've heard the term. I know no one in real life, but I can think of a specific poster here who does this. Actually, two.

I have only heard "emo" to describe teenagers with teenage angst, especially those who write dark poetry and have a semi-gothic look.

I've heard it before, but never as an insult. Emo often also refers to a type of music - an indie rock/alternative mix. In fact, I listen to "emo" music.

I always thought it was a style of music...but also sad and angry, so maybe it just morphed into an insult...glad Im not in high school anymore

I know a couple of "emo" people in real life. They act just like the most of the descriptions on here. The thing I find amusing, is that they try so hard not to be mainstream that they go completely to the other half of the spectrum, and are so mainstream and stereotypically "emo" that they've basically defeated their purpose.

Kind of off topic, but over Christmas, when my (baby) cousin was here, she had some funny hair styles going on. I guess from a certain way she was sleeping, her hair was swept to one side... All week we said that she had an "emo swoop" going on.

I'd rather like mainstream music or not like mainstream music because I really do like it and that's just me, than to base everything I like on what I "should" based on whether I'm "emo" or not.

It's humorous.
I think it's funny how the Emo's at the school I used to work at were always trying to 'be different' and 'stand out' but in actual fact were blending in with all the other Emo's at school and everywhere else for that matter. It's like they were saying "I'm going to be different and an individual... by joining that group of similar people over there".
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
Around here, emo refers to a style of music.

I think the best visual of an emo type person is Ally Sheedy's character in The Breakfast Club.

I take it as meaning "emotional" in a teen angst sort of way - and I can't see myself putting any more thought into it than that.

I love you creepy girls!

This is just a dumb message board to vent on or make random comments or to argue with people when you feel like it. This is not real life. Get over it. You have your own little board, after all.

Boo hoo, I offended all of the lazy, hypocritical chubby girls. Boo hoo hoo.

Hehe Being an emo. Kinda clever. I think I have seen the type. I almost wonder if my SIL is a mild version.
