Perhaps Calvin escaped and now has her locked in his crate.
If springy weren't such a nice dog mom, I'd have The Sweetest Fig images running through my mind.

My guess is she's busy packing up. Aren't they moving in June?

Unfortunately I'm still in CT (not that I don't love it here, but I'm ready to GO already, anxious) because the military prefers to order you to move then let you dangle in the wind wondering what's going on because even though they transfer families every single year, they seem to lack a proficient system in getting the job done. Sorry, I'm a little bitter today.
Thank you for thinking of me xcptnl!! If my iPad 3G works decently maybe I'll still be able to post during our trip. Anything to avoid the moment when DH asks me to drive...the iPad will keep me looking busy, no?
Still no idea what day the movers are coming, although we've requested June 6th and we're just pretending that will actually happen. Yesterday some skank with an attitude told DH on the phone they would let us know 48 hours in advance. PLENTY of time to let our landlord know, schedule our utilities to be cut off, reserve our Uhaul for towing the car and getting the house ready to be packed up. (heavy notes of sarcasm on that last sentence )
Saria, I looked up that book and oh my word, Calvin would be in heaven!! I'm definitely keeping all magical figs out of his reach.
(sorry to turn this post into a venting/b-itching reply, it's just been building up for months now and I'm sorta fed up with the process and lack of help)

Whew I feel better - you are still in New England. Maybe I should not know when the big day is I will just pretend you are still close!
I am thinking unless you can pull up excel reports on that iPad you might be in trouble with the keeping busy thing.
How is Calvin?? Casey is wanting to know!!!

I feel for you, really. I have been there too many times. Yeah, it sucks that they won't give more advanced notice. Hang in there!!!
How is Calvin doing now? Better, I hope.

xcptnl, I'll always be just a mere NC.com post away. I'm gonna miss being your neighbor though.
Calvin was doing fine and dandy until about 1:30 today when we had some drama. At first I thought it was his back spasms again, but after almost 2 hours sitting on the floor with him trying to keep him calm (he was trying to jump up and dart around like he was in pain), I realized it may be stomach issues which he's had in the past.
I just don't know what to do for him, he'll try resting for a bit then jumps up and whines and tries to dart around his crate. I figured the best place for him was back in the crate to limit his movement. He's had this issue in the past (like he's got bad gas?) and I guess I'll try just feeding him bland rice tomorrow instead of his food...I guess brown rice will be ok.
Why can't my boy catch a break?
Thank you guys for asking about him, he certainly appreciates all his doggie aunts.

Poor Calvin. I hope his tummy feels better. Can you give him something like pepto bismol? Our vet used to have me give it to one of my dogs for upset stomach.

Poor Calvin, I know some vets also recommend pepcid for dogs, depending on what type of tummy issue it is.

If this doesn't clear up I'll call the vet tomorrow. He's had similar episodes in the past, but they usually went away a little quicker. Maybe the medications he's on are finally getting to him?
I'll ask about the pepto and pepcid if I have to take him in. Thanks for the suggestions! The vets bank account must lurrrrrve us!

Awww, poor Calvin!
Are you allowed to tell us where you're going? I've seen posts about moving, but not location. Closer to me I assume since it's hard to get farther.

She's moving to California. So yeah, much closer to you, CurliLocks, Minxy, OBB, ~Ghost Poster~, and The Queen of Gekkolandia. And far away from us cold weather-suffering east coast curlies.

I could totally go for some cold weather right now. It's miserable humid and hot and everything in the house is damp. Lawdy, let our next place have AC! Leave it to me to wait until a hot day to bake banana bread.
NetG we're moving to Point Reyes, CA. Originally it was Alameda, CA but DH's orders got changed due to a promotion (yay!). At least it's still in the same area and wasn't some crazy place like Guam!

Congrats to the man!!!
