Bausch&Lomb contacts w/ different solution?

I have Bausch&Lomb contacts, and I currently use the solution from that same brand, Renu. Is it safe for my eyes and contacts if I use opti-free solution instead? I have a whole bottle of the opti free and I kinda want to use it before it expires. I'm just wondering if anything negative could happen?

Oh, sure, you can use any kind of solution that agrees with your eyes. I have J&J lenses but I use Aquify solution because I work for the company that makes it and I get a discount at the company store. I've also used Renu when my eye doctor gave me some.

All you have to look for is that the solution is formulated for the type of contacts you have, like hard, soft hydrogel, etc.

Also most solutions need 6 hours to fully sterilize the lenses. If you often wear your contacts for more than 18 hours a day, then make sure that the solution doesn't contain an irritating chemical that takes 6 hours to neutralize, like hydrogen peroxide.

I have b&l contacts and have been using opti-free ever since i got them! you shouldn't have a problem.
