Give me allllllll of Scandinavia. Which would be a ***** because I hate the cold, fine, for a year or two.

I already know I have a three year limit with Japan. A crime rate is only one facet to consider when looking a country. As OBB pointed out, they can be racist, not only to other foreigners but amongst themselves. That argument might not make sense but when you look at native Japanese groups who historically worked as artisans, these people are stigmatised even now and still can't get jobs in certain sectors. Even Korean and Chinese who are 6th generation Japanese citizens are not considered Japanese.

I'm also going to have to consider what each country defines as crime. Cause Japan tends to have a very loose definition of "crime."

Convenient, eh?

Interesting, I didn't know that. I'll have to look into that. That movie is currently in cinemas here.
I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

Yeah, I read somewhere that Iceland is surprisingly warm and Greenland is rather cold. Most people assume the reverse is true, based on the countries' names.

That was done deliberately by Vikings, to mislead other explorers.

I changed my mind about New Zealand. I just heard that croupiers at casinos have to wear flea collars, since the infestations are so bad there.

Guess it's back to hoeing a tough row for Gekko. (She doesn't give us many perks, btw. Just saying.)

how is "peaceful" being measured? just from following a couple of vlogs on youtube, i know that a couple of these countries may have racial attitudes where certain outsiders are concerned. maybe they are just better at keeping those things under wraps, thus adding to the fantasy that they are peaceful places.

also, i know that many, if not all, of the countries listed are culturally diverse, but i wonder to what degree that diversity is, in comparison to say, the U.S.

I visited Slovenia in 2009, so because of actually being there I would consider living there. It is beautiful and I really loved the capitol Lublijana. I would also consider Austria, the Czech Republic, and New Zealand.

However, my first choice will always be America, but living abroad for a few months at a time really appeals to me.
