Let's share happy things!

My DH has been walking on a cloud for days now because he saw one of his favorite music artists dropping off a movie at Blockbuster a few days ago.

He was telling me about it and he said "No way it was her, but she looked JUST like her!!" so I did some googling and sure enough she lives in our town! He's been so incredibly stoked about it since and it's so cute.

The amount of time from slipping on the peel and landing on the pavement is exactly one bananosecond.
I do have a secret yen for pink in unexpected places. ~ninja dog
I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
We're showing the house tomorrow... hopefully they are interested and we can MOVE! But....that means no sleeping in.

My boyfriend has an interview at a place he's been interested in for almost 6 months!

My dog's "sample" came back negative for any parasites!

It's a long weekend, with great weather, and we're going boating on the lake tomorrow!

Wile, it's someone he started following on Youtube a few years ago so she's not really mainstream. Her name is Lauren O'connell.

I'm finally going to get my hair cut and colored this morning after a few months hiatus. Thank goodness because I have roots a mile long!

I finally had my eyebrows evened. The esthetician noted that one of them is wavier than the other.

(Laughter.)

My county has finally been declared a disaster area by FEMA! That may not sound good to most but it's great to me. I'm the executive director for our local United Way and we need the help. The residents will hopefully be closer to recovery.

We're camping at the lake, the weather is perfect! Hubby and I took the boat and went fishing---didn't catch anything today but we enjoyed some quiet time. Maybe we'll borrow the neighbor's kayaks again and go out this afternoon.

Son (here too) is a freshman at HS this year, started this last week; he loves it so far (after being worried sick the first day or two).

Jasper (dog) is relaxing, listening to the mountain animal sounds and catching all the wonderful scents!

"Meanwhile Rick James is making her new............"

(Yes, this is a happy thing, in a musical context.)
Sat around a bonfire tonite cooking hotdogs and marshmallows. Beautiful hot nite, large red crescent moon, cicadas singing. Nice.

I also posted this in the how's rasing your family thread but it just made me so happy soooo I'm posting it here too. Lol

It's really an amazing thing when your child starts speaking in sentences. I'm starting to see him as his own little person not just my baby, he brings us all so much joy.

Our family was in the car on the way home and the following conversation was between my Hubby and my 2yr old son.
"Daddy wait no home needa go to the store!"
"Son what could you possibly need from the store?!"
"apples!"
"Babe we have plenty of apples at home"
Me: "daddy's right we just bought apples"
(clearly annoyed) "no daddy apples at the store!"
"Ok I'll tell you what if we get home and there's no apples we will go to the store"
(get home, he immediately points to the empty fruit basket)
"see I eat all up!" and he calmly walks back out to the car yelling behind him "tum (come)on!"

The hubby and I died laughing, Noah was so serious!
Today's my son's birthday. He picked out 1 thing that wasn't spongebob. He chose a spiderman cake at the last minute. My FIL went in earlier this week and tried to order him a cake as a surprise. I guess my son made quite the impression because they remembered him. Boy am I glad, their specialty cakes are really cool (and tasty) but they are HUGE. Last time we couldn't even finish half of it.

It's a family tradition that we have all our birthday parties at the park and do other outdoor stuff. But today it's raining. When I told my son, I expected to hear whinning and disappointment. Instead I heard "it's ok, maybe we can go tomorrow"

I asked him if he got any bigger today. he said in an annoyed voice "no mommy I haven't had my cake yet!" Me: "So you can't grow up until you have cake?" Him: Yes

I had a divine pedicure yesterday

I'm going to Key West next week for my birthday!

My son started a new job on Monday and he loves it!

The doves are back outside by back door, thinking about nesting again

My husband cleaned our shower and it looks brand new!

When I hold my granddaughter, she pats my turtle necklace and says Ta Ta! (Pretty sure this means turtle but am hoping she doesn't start calling me Granny Turtle)

I love Florida and never want to live anywhere else.

I was born to be a pessimist. My blood type is B Negative.

I really, really like my handmade artist-designed pit bull charm necklace.
I found my long lost necklace my best friend gave me!

My hair is growing fast :-)

My babe has 3 weeks off starting at the end of sept. This means road trips, exploring muesums, little coffee shops, art galleries and laser tag.

I finally got him to try indian food and he likes it.
