My boyfriend and I had a mini-feast tonight.
I made homemade beer bread (with Peroni) with a dash of rosemary and parmesan. So we snacked on that for a while with a variety of sliced cheese.
Then he made homemade burgers with all the fixin's. Yummm!
Just when I thought I had no more room in my belly for anything else, his daughter asked if we could all go and get ice cream together. She is 13 so she treats us like the plague most of the time. We always jump at the chance to spend time with her!
Now my puppy is curled up next to me. What a lovely night with my family!

One of my coworkers told me this morning that he had a dream that he saw me at the airport on my way to a tropical vacation, and that he thought maybe it meant I was going to win the lottery.
He's from Chile and barely speaks any English...and a super nice guy.... so it was cute to hear him try to explain it to me.

All the dogs smiled joyfully this morning when I took them to a park and let them run around like maniacs instead of our usual mini-walkies.
(They also "went" like crazy, but that was expected. I was loaded with bags.)

Tonight is the first session with our pre-marriage counselor. I'm so excited and nervous and very very happy.

I'm really proud of myself for passing a certified kettlebell trainer test. I signed up for it with only a week's notice, worked out everyday, couldn't do the required exercises with the required weight, worried about it, but kicked a$$ on test day. After 8 hours of practical instruction. In the heat. I'm super inspired to keep going and compete in 6 weeks.

Competition kettlebells are all the same size, but different weights (designated by color). I used a 12kg/26lb KB (amateur level competitor weight). Professional competitors use at least a 20kg/44lb bell!
Here's an example of a woman doing the snatch (yes, that's what it's called!) with a 24kg/53lb bell with perfect technique. With every rep, she's lifting probably more than half her body weight. Unbelievable!
Competitions consist of 10 minute sets of 2 events separated by at least 30 minutes. So in the video above, she is doing a 10 minute snatch set with one hand switch allowed at the 5 minute mark.

There's also a resting position called the rack--so I want to have a t-shirt made that says:
If you like my rack, you should see my snatch!

I said puppies and rainbows, but how about kittens? They've learned to get out of their stall, and decided they like the poop cart's cupholders to sleep in. (It's actually a garden cart, aka ~$100 less expensive than one meant for horses!)

I love that game! My sister is in Beijing for the summer and she says that people there are obsessed with Plants vs. Zombies. She's found P vs. Z board games, plush toys and Uno so far. She's bringing me a copy of Uno.

I finally found a maxi dress for such a "short" person (I hadn't realized I was all that short until I was trying to find one!) like me, and I look pretty hot in it, if I do say so myself! I'm wearing it to work today.

One only horse people will understand: I rode Mom's horse in a lesson yesterday and actually got her to trot with some suspension!
The kittens and mom are enjoying the cool under the house - but still like hanging out with us in the barn. Momma cat seems to be teaching them to watch out and avoid predators, too. Good times!
