I was just informed last night that a trip to Ireland is most definitely in my future this coming spring!

A week from today hopefully headed to Jamaica mon!
OK I'm so excited I am in my office with the door closed trying not to bounce off the walls.... my boss just asked me to go to the COURT OF APPEAL with him NEXT WEEK... and to do the opening statement! So I am officially the first person in my class to do that! And I'm terrified! And I have a lot of work to do!

I'm so envious of you guys who are going on trips! I have a travelling itch that can't be scratched right now.

When SO and I were on vacation a couple of weeks we went to this outdoor free concert. It was at LL Bean in Freeport ME. You could put out you chairs anytime after midnight. We are pretty early risers so imagine our surprise when we got there at 8 am and saw this:

The concert was not until 7:30 pm.

SO is not a concert guy so I thought it was so sweet that he suggested we extend our time in Maine by two days so we could see this show. The performer was Amos Lee and I really liked him before I saw him live - now I LOVE him and have a serious crush on him.

SO really enjoyed the show too. It was one of those beautiful summer nights. Absolutely magical.

Holy early lawn chairs!!

I'm so glad y'all got to see the concert and had a good time!!

Is that the LL Bean near the outlets? The one with the big boot?

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
I love Amos Lee! Funny guy, and he recorded his last album here, produced by the lead singer of Calexico. I saw him in a performance/interview from the same radio station as I went to one at last night, and he was (nicely) mocking the interviewer the whole time only she didn't realize it. He just kept using sarcasm and telling jokes which went over her head and she took seriously - without insulting her or anything like that.

And happy thing - I got to see Matt Nathanson last night at the radio station in an interview/acoustic performance.

Amos gave a great performance and he was funny. LL Bean had a person signing his songs and about 1/2 through he realized she was there. He said he first thought she was a fan and was wondering what she was doing then he said if he had known she had been there the whole time he would have been enunciating his words better. They played a funny song later and some of the words were soap you up and rubba dub dub and he told her he had to watch carefully while she signed those.

It's so weird to see because at the time I had no idea any of us were so overweight. So, let's count us three being much, much healthier now an extremely happy thing in keeping with the theme of this thread.

I'm behind on my laundry. That is awesome because a few months back we got our FIRST washer and dryer. (Another happy point we can afford to buy the good detergent now instead of the cheapest stuff). And the best part of it, we only budgeted for a basic-no frills set up. But that week they had a special on a really nice set with lots of extras in our price range! It's been months and it still makes me happy. It's so great being able slack a little without it being hugely inconvenient.

Part 2: I finally found an anti-perspirant that works for me!

Because I'm behind on my laundry I was had to look through clothes I haven't worn in a while. Buried in the back of my closet I found a pretty dress shirt I bought years ago and forgot about. I never wore it because it's VERY white and I was worried about sweat stains. And it has an empire waistline and I had a poochy stomach. But now that both those issues are resolved, now all I need is someplace to wear it to.

And finally, it's a beautiful day, not hot at all. The boys have spent a great deal of time playing outside without running in and out. I really needed this. We've been getting on each other's nerves bad.
I haven't cried at work today! In fact I'm 3 for 4 days this week. (Last week was particularly trying, and I think it's possible I had a mini-break down).

I have one more day of work to get through before I take a week off. WOOOOOOOOT

I'm also glad that tomorrow is Friday. And I have a quiet weekend ahead which is a nice thing for a change.

The last few days have been particularly tough, I am beyond thankful that my son made it through the night. The worst is behind us, now we can focus on getting him healthy again. His spirits are up and I have my little boy back!

BrettyU what happened?

The rugrat was being a pill this am.
Saw the teacher.
She started to approach me and I was like this will be really good or really bad...lol
Luckily it was good.
I told her she made my day about how the rugrat was doing in school this week.
I told the principal that we are having one of those days.
She says, yes, I'm having one, too...lol
So glad it's the weekend...with the back stuff it's been a hard week! I used all my time off being sick so worked 12_ish hours the last couple days trying to make up time.

I'm soooo lucky to be in a position I'm allowed to work from home and I'll be working this weekend to get ahead for next week. It's been one of those weeks I just <3 my job and remember how lucky I am!

BrettyU that must be so scary. I'm keeping your son (and you!) in my thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I also feel incredibly lucky! Was feeling a bit sorry for myself yesterday that I have to work this weekend instead of going to the lake with my girlfriends.... then I got mail from my school that I won two more awards (cash!!!), and they are for the top mark in International Law (what I want to do) and Immigration Law (one of my possible paths into it.) This reminds me that hard work has lots of rewards and to keep at it. Then right after that, my baby rolled over for the first time!!!!! So I am so, so blessed and grateful, lake or not!
