Default Let's share happy things!

Ok, time for a puppies and rainbows thread.

Compared to things other board members are going through, my recent issues are minor. And I have the utmost sympathy for everyone with hard times happening.

But can we have some good things?

Like Spring1onu and her hubs and pup moving into a new place!

I'm thrilled to be back to riding horses, and lucky enough to have them outside my bedroom window. 8 weeks of not riding was hard on me, and my horse got really grouchy about the fact he was hurting. He's behaving better than ever and didn't forget anything, so now we just have to re-build his muscles. Very fun times!

NetG, I'm so glad you're feeling better and doing what you love.

Happy things: well, things are going pretty well at work although the coming fourth of July is looming over all of us. Still, it's generally pleasant and I'm enjoying my time here.

I start my new job today (and I get to wear scrubs)!

I don't start seeing patients until next week...I'm only going to meet the parents and observe them with their old therapist before I take over her caseload.

I am in the best shape of my life right now and it feels so good that my body can do everything I want it to do. I am grateful for my health.

My sis and i have had a rocky relationship in the past. But all that has changed. She came over my house yesterday and we hung out and even made plans for her birthday!

Well, you all know the heartbreak I'm going thru, BUT Saturday night I decided I needed to have fun and be around people. I left my house at 8:30pm in jeans and tee shirt and canvas shoes. Not a night club look, but comfortable. I went to a club by my house. I had soooo much fun!

At one point the band was playing the Black Eyed Peas song "I Got A Feeling" and I was on the dance floor so I started jumping up and down waving my arms and singing. I looked around and the whole dance floor was imitating me and smiling. I danced with so many people that night, men and women. It felt so good. I really needed that.

My son's skateboard got snapped in half a few days ago. It was an accident but still not cheap to just run out and replace. I definitely didn't have the money to replace it immediately. My son's uncle heard and immediately insisted on replacing it for him. Son's aunt called one of our local boardshops ( aunt and uncle live in CO, we're in CA) and bought him a new deck and we just had to pick it up! What a fantastic family I have. Here's Luke with his new deck after leaving the shop.

Thanks Lotsa. And he is quite huggable. He would totally squeeze you back. I'm hoping he always stays huggable.

NetG I'm so happy that you get to be with your horse again

Cyndi great news on the job!

Great idea for a thread!
My voice is almost fully recovered - I'm feeling much less self-conscious about it.

I kicked the coffee habit - which was hell for me but I had to for medical reasons. Harder than giving up alcohol, harder than any diet. Yay for me!!!!!

I'm finally a curly girl every day! Happy to be at peace with that.

My birthday is coming up. I look great for 66 (at least I think so LOL).

I had a great interview today - but not going to post on the job thread until I see if I get a second interview.

Haven't gone shopping in months because of $$ but did so today in case I get a second interview and had great success. Amazing! Found a chic suit that is perfect for interviews, on sale and miraculously fits without needing alteration.

For some reason - I felt happy all day. I wish I could bottle this stuff. Sending Hugs to everyone

Talking

We had a Jazz It Off contest at our local Jazzercise for 13 weeks. I won for most body fat lost!!! Woohoo! I lost 2.1% just in the last few weeks!

I was stuck for a while and wasn't getting anywhere, stats stayed the same. Then the last few weeks--bingo! My weight is down, muscle is up, and it's been continuing since.

Finally! All my hard work is paying off. Oh, and my cholesterol is down too (another beni).

I was told yesterday that I just *might* be able to quit my job earlier than next Christmas so that I can focus on school more. It's not in stone, but just the thought of having more time for my family and myself...made me smile.

CP - that's HUGE! Congratulations!

Everyone else - please keep the happy coming! I'm loving it.

I had a good ride this morning on my firecracker - we went on a real trail ride for the first time, and he behaved pretty well!

I love everyone's happy things!

--It's summer.
--It's hot out.
--I have great beaches nearby.
--I have lots of free time to do what I want.
--Sitting on the porch with the cat is a great way to spend a few minutes every morning and every nite.
--I sleep like a log.
--I lost 20 pounds earlier this year and have kept it off. Looking forward to working on the last 10 lbs this coming fall.
--Found a place in India to get my migraine meds, so instead of costing me $200 per month they now cost me around $300 per year!!
