Missing baby Lisa

You hope the parents have nothing to do with the 10 month old's disappearance, but they are usually the first to be investigated. I just don't see the motive unless they were in some trouble with the wrong people. The dad is a bit odd in interviews, just stares straight ahead, but it could be exhaustion.

I hope the baby is found safely and soon.

I feel bad saying it, but I thought the same thing about the Dad. I saw an interview and he just repeated the story of how he found the baby missing. No emotion, nothing. But then I thought that maybe I watch too much Criminal Minds and he's just exhausted from saying the same thing over and over.

That baby is just the sweetest looking little munchkin. I hope they find her soon.
That's so sad.

I understand the first thing they do is rule out the parents but good grief, at some point MOVE ON. If it wasn't the parents, you can't MAKE it have been them, even if you get them to confess. I think police do sometimes get too consumed with getting someone, anyone, and lose sight of the fact that if it's the wrong person, then they've accomplished nothing. I would think that if the parents "went from cooperating to not cooperating" it's because they know they didn't take their baby and they want the police to stop assing around and find the person who did. Every minute that goes by, the chances of finding that baby go down. As the parent of a missing child, that must drive you insane to know that they're hung up on you, YOU know you didn't do it, and what is happening to your child with the police are busy not looking for the person who took your baby.

I'm certainly not an expert or anything, but these parents don't send up any alarms with me and I am the most suspicious person in the world.

Several years ago the same thing happened with a couple in Florida (baby Sabrina) and the police said they had tapes of the two of them talking about doing coke and killing the baby. When they later released the tapes, there was nothing. Occasional sobs, no talking. They decided it was the parents. They neglected to tell the rest to mention that several other homes in their neighbor hood, all with infants, had been broken into in the past few weeks. When the police decide it's you, it's YOU. Ask the Ramseys.

I don't think all cops are bad, I have a great amount of respect for what they do. I think there are probably some jerks who just want to be right, but there are probably also a lot of good people who want to find out what happened to this baby and statistics and experience point to it most often being the parents.

Whatever happens, I do hope this baby is ok. It's so sad. I can't stop thinking about it. If it was the one night the dad worked late and the mom left the door unlocked (for him, I assume) my guess is that it's someone who knows them (I'm not a cop or doctor, I just play one on the interwebz).
Amneris, Nallia and Debh366 like this.
About the dad, I would not be surprised if he's sedated somewhat or holding it together for the mom. She's a mess and who wouldn't be, but only one of you can crack up at a time. If he's holding up for her, then good for him. That has to be tough.
Nallia and foreverturtles like this.
Yeah when I saw his interview the first thing I suspected was that he was sedated. He just seemed very drained and going through the motions.

It makes sense to focus on the family first, especially for a claim of middle of the night intruder that didn't take anything besides cellphones ( which is dumb ).

I think the more there are cases like Susan Smith (who claimed a black man car jacked her car and drove off with the boys in it) or Casey Anthony, who let the cops spend months and lots of $$ searching for Caylee, the more they are likley, without good strong leads/evidence to try to "crack" the family.

Their story is fishy! I think they did it. Who steals a baby and cell phones but nothing else? Who leaves all their cell phones home to begin with?
No MAS.

The whole thing is horrifying. I haven't lived in KC for awhile, but it still feels too close to home.

Wasn't it Polly Klaas's dad that said it didn't matter what the police did, he would cooperate? He agreed to every test, interview, etc. that the police wanted because he knew he had nothing to hide. He just wanted to find his little girl. Him saying that is what stuck with me when I see these stories.

I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like to have a child stolen from your house, so I won't judge how they have acted on TV, news, etc. Everyone deals differently. But I just cannot fathom telling the police I didn't want to answer anymore questions.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
This whole mess hits close to home for me too, as I grew up within 5 miles of the house the baby disappeared from.

I really would like to believe the mother had nothing to do with it, but my skeptical side smells a fish rotting somewhere. NO evidence? NO leads? NOBODY knows ANYTHING? People don't just vanish without a trace. The mother might have failed a polygraph, but polygraphs are highly subjective and it could be the police told her she failed, trying to force a confession and "solve" an otherwise dead end case. Or she could have accidentally killed her and be hiding it out of fear. The body is pretty well hidden, if that's the case.

Part of investigating a crime like this is realizing a normal, sane person would not commit it. So you have to accept that the motive is neither normal or sane. Debating motives at this point is kind of irrelevant. Random, unrelated break ins and abductions are so rare. I don't see a stranger burglar, in an attempt to rob the house, going in and happening across a baby and deciding to take it instead. The cell phone thing is weird, but it's possible the mother's explanation holds water. Some people don't sleep with their phones - the kidnapper could've taken them to delay the parents from calling 911.

However, I remember when my children were infants. I had a baby monitor and if they so much as coughed, I was instantly awake. This little one had a cold with a cough - I can't imagine the mother was sleeping so soundly that she totally missed someone walking in and walking out with the child. I've considered the possibility that she accidentally OD'd the kid on cold medicine and is now trying to cover it up. I really don't want to believe that, but there is something someone knows that we aren't being told. People who kidnap babies don't live in underground storm shelters, isolated from the outside world. Someone is eventually going to notice and go "hey, where'd you get that baby from?" That there are no real leads or confirmed sightings by this point is not a good sign.

I believe at this point, the child is dead. It's the police's job to keep certain details and information under wraps, because if it's not the parents, they don't want to give away how close they are to finding the abductor, should they have good information pointing to who it is. I don't blame the parents for not wanting to talk much more and implicate themselves, which is easy to do under the kind of stress and pressure I'm sure they are being subjected to. However, as of the 5 o clock news, they had yet to hire a lawyer. They need one, ASAP. I would not be surprised if one or both of them is involved.
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing
Poo: Giovanni 50:50
RO:TN, Nexxus Youth Renewal, Alba Coconut
LI: KCKT
PT: gelatin PT, ION EC
Stylers: Giovanni mousse, TIGI Curls Rock amplifier (a-cone), Curls Rock Strong Hold Mousse
Gels: SCC spray gel

maybe whoever took baby lisa took the cell phones too, so that the parents wouldn't be able to call 911, giving the kidnapper more time to get away.

I haven't seen the video of the Lisa Irwin's parents statement but I do hope they find the answer soon.

Also still think of little Kyron Horman and Trenton Duckett very often.

I was born to be a pessimist. My blood type is B Negative.
People who take babies can and do disappear. There was a case a few months ago where a baby was taken from the hospital in NYC about 20 years ago...and the girl herself put two and two together. The lady that took her, just showed up out the blue with a baby that was a few months old...and obviously it never raised any eyebrows. She enrolled this kid in school and everything without a birth certificate or social security card. It happens more than people want to think.
