Ibuprofen is pronounced Eye-boo-pro-fen not Eye-boo-fen

I hear the latter a lot at work.

Oh. I say eye-byu-pro-fen. Like kyoo-pon, which I also say. Its not a koo-pon. Its also a roohf (roof, not a ruhf) and a crown (crayon). Never have I said cray-on.

I get told I have a weird kind of accent sometimes. I believe it now lol.

I had to look it up. Coo is first, with cyu secondary.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
-Artic for Arctic
-Sherbert for Sherbet
-Smelt for Smelled (biggest pet peeve ever. To "smelt" is to melt metal. I'm pretty sure your nose can't melt metal... or a smelt is a type of fish)

Generally, horrible mispronounced medical terms. One of my instructors pronounced something really horribly the other day, but I can't remember what it was. But it was one of those words where you just change the root to get a different word, like "myocardium" to "pericardium."

Haha, RCC, it figures!

Today, my stats professor pronounced the word "contractor" like "kin-TRACTOR" about 15 times. I guess it's not a mis-pronounciation so much as odd emphasis. It was still annoying though! I kept looking around to see if anyone else was taking notice! They weren't.

By the way, SaraNoH:

smelt
verb
a simple past tense and past participle of smell.
It does sound funny, though.

And it will steal your innocence
But it will not steal your substance
But you are not alone in this"
