I don't go shopping on Black Friday. I do shop online though. I bought some Curl Junkie products this morning with their 20% off sale. I will do more online shopping on Cyber Monday.

No way, except online.

if our local tack shop hadn't just closed for good that would be the only place I would possibly shop in person, as I too like to support local businesses.

There are a couple arts festivals this weekend I'll be attending, and I may buy something online, but other than that I'm not shopping.

I like going to the grocery store today, too - I've typically gone to pick up a fresh turkey on mega-clearance and cooked it.

But at least the pews never attend yoga!

Not a chance in hell! lol
I know GP was supposed to go try to get a computer for his oldest and was leaving at 5 AM...
I've never done Black Friday. Question, though.

All the ads tout the OMGReallyBigDeals, but do some prices go up? I ask because I've had my eye on a crockpot at Target that has been priced at a little over $30 for months. I looked online today to see if it was on sale, and now it's $68! I even had it saved in my cart, and it says "Price has increased from $33.24 to $68.29."

More than double the original price... is this normal, and I've just never noticed?
The best revenge is living well. The second best revenge is fire ants.
I'm not.

I'm not going to act like I don't love a sale and if I had infinite patience, I'd be out there. But I just don't have the patience. When lines are long on any old shopping day, I get cranky and leave empty handed. So it wouldn't make sense for me to deliberately go shopping when I know it's like that.

But my friends are going and I've told them, if they see a laptop that's ~$300, snag it for me. They love Black Friday and even tried to hit midnight sales last night but there was no parking.

I hope for your sake that I'm wrong, but IME, Target does this sometimes.

I've never gone to a crazy midnight-ish sale. I'm kind of curious, but not motivated enough to attend. Perhaps if there was something I really needed, and I knew for certain I could get it cheaply without being involved in a stampede or a brawl, I might try it, someday. And while T-giving isn't my favorite holiday, and I personally wouldn't mind working some crazy shift, I find it indicative of our country's schizophrenic nature that we ask people to end their own day of gratitude early so that others may spend wildly.

I think everyone should remember the poor guy at Walmart who died in a shopping stampede.
Never. I'm as materialistic as the next person, but the blatant consumerism is repugnant to me. We take a holiday and turn it into a buying frenzy. I dont need that in my life.

I will shop local and or online, but usually I'm spending time with friends and family the Friday after Thanksgiving, so I rarely do.

Stolen.
I did some online shopping but will never go out in the crowds for it.

I'm not getting out in the stores this year. I'm buying hair products only from Oyin Handmade. That's it. And I did that last night. So I'm done.

Hell to the no. If I go shopping, I'll do it online. I find the way people act on BF pretty disgusting. I feel especially sorry for the workers who have their holiday cut short because people want to go nuts and act like barbarians for a few bucks off. No thanks.

I think it's sickening, honestly.
I'm Black and it's Friday so... yeah?

(And being Black is confirmed - macaroni, no mashed potatoes, no green bean casserole, no mayo.)

You couldn't pay me to be out in that mess! 1) I don't like crowds 2) I'm finished Christmas shopping

Nope. I like staying home in my pj's and eating leftovers instead! I can't enjoy shopping if I'm getting jostled and shoved. I'd rather wait until a regular weekday morning and shop when everyone else is at work.

^One of the reasons I like weekdays off is that I can go shopping, go to the bank, post office, laundromat, and pretty much anywhere with next to no crowds. It's great.

Hell to the no. There's nothing I want or need that badly that I'd want to endure being shoved or cursed at. I did do the Curl Junkie BF sale because I'm running out of the Daily Fix and the Beauticurls leave in but that sale is online.

I'm not. DH left today after a few days home on leave before deployment overseas. No amount of retail therapy could heal me today
