I was rooting for it. Never happens the way you want though. I would rather watch it with Bill, he was fun.
The SO started watching when the guys started deliberating on giving the idol to the women. He couldn't believe it. Who knew?

I kind of think they've signed their death warrant. I'm also surprised they kept Tarzan after the discussion in tribal.
I think the reason Alicia was so hot to get rid of Monica was because she wants everyone to look at HER boobs more.

It was an awesome smart move. I can't believe he was able to pull it off. He's very crafty.

Calling Bill "ghetto" simply because he is black speaks loudly to me of prejudice, if not racism. I was deeply offended by that--what would make him use that term, if not for the color of Bill's skin and the texture of his hair? That's right...nothing. And, his blatant disdain for the lower classes pushes him further into the "high likelihood of racism" category, IMO. And, yes, Bill is black...how could you doubt that? We almost always "recognize" each other.
The irony is that, to me, Colton comes off as far more "ghetto" than Bill ever could on his worst day--his shallow, arrogang, ridiculing, conniving, deceitful ways and his over-the-top affected manner of speaking are all quite ghetto to me, and if they voted him off right this second, it wouldn't be soon enough for me. If he wasn't constantly going on and on about his upper class background, I'd have never guessed. He's as classless as they come. It's been awhile since I've wanted to put my foot through my tv.

i think that i've been trained by this site in particular to NOT call someone black just because i sense they have black heritage.

(love those curls!!!)
there have been people from the dominican republic and cuba that look blacker than anyone in my family that have explained to me that they weren't black.
we all know that there are people from india that have dark skin that eclipses any african american and yet they are not "black."
his origins could easily be from trinidad or guyana.
bill is biracial and i know for fact that SOME biracial people do not like to be called black. some like to be called biracial or whatever the hell.
so, my point is that bill according to my "senses" appeared to be mixed and nothing about his personality was ghetto, nothing. so to label bill both black and ghetto were not signs of racism IMO but signs of insecurity. my racist antennae didn't go up with colton. in fact it is my opinion that bill was a threat in a big way to colton and he just need an excuse to dislike him.
(also, bill isn't from the lower classes, he wasn't a bum, he's military veteran)
clearly colton is not racist because he bonded with the black woman on the other team.
i think bill was funny and charming and sweet and cute and that is colton's niche. there can't be two, one had to go.
...or i'm rationalizing cause i like colton and his dastardly ways!

Good point, but I'm not just suggesting that he's black because he has darker skin and, yes, gor-freaking-geous curly hair.
I don't know Bill's past or current socioeconomic status...I was just speaking to Colton's arrogance and uppityness and mention of his own upbringing. I didn't know that he had truly bonded with anyone...I didn't see that...are you sure it's not just part of his strategy?
I don't like people who behave like Colton...gay, straight, rich, poor, black, white, purple, or otherwise. I wouldn't last a day on Survivor. I'd be the first one voted off--there's no doubt in my mind. I have low--no, make that zero--tolerance for BS. I'd love to see a season where alliances weren't allowed.

I think this is more the case.
I never said Bill was black. I said Colton was racist. Last time I checked, racism wasn't something specially reserved for African Americans. Bill is a brown person. He is a person of color. Racists don't get caught up in nuances such as hair texture, skin shade, and "otherness." If you look black, you black. Case closed. So it doesn't matter what Bill is.
Back on topic, for some reason I tried to watch this episode 3 times and kept falling asleep. Last night I woke up in time to see that it was Monica who was voted off. Without seeing what led up to it, my first reaction was, "dumb move for the women." I'm going to try to watch past the second challenge, so I can comment.

Yeah, me too. I always feel a little cheated when they go to tribal and nothing happens.
It was funny when Kat kept asking about appendicitis.

Buh-bye Colton, couldn't have happened to a nicer b*tch. Hopefully everyone was given a view of Alicia's real self in tribal when she brought up the idol and it made them think. If the mean girls thing (to Christina) was all they were showing on air I can imagine how bad they were before edit.
Kat, what can I say about Kat? Yep, ummm, really not too bright.

Ha! If I didn't believe in karma before, I certainly do now.
I just couldn't believe the cruelty Colton and Alicia exhibited toward Christina. There must be some Survivor rule about fighting because Christina and Alicia got ever so close to getting physical and then they simmered down. As tough as Alicia likes to come across, she's a spineless wimp. She finds her strength in numbers. I have a lot of respect for Christina.
My dvr cut off right before they went to tribal. I wonder how the women will treat Alicia now that they've merged. Will the alliance be kept in place?
