That sucks about the 'cool beans' mix-up. I know what it's like to not clarify something in the moment when it could have used being.
I think it will work itself out this weekend. You have a good intuition in how you're responding to everything, and I like the idea about making the move next if you sense he's a little scared off.

Aww this is so cute, I'm keeping my fingers cross for you and hope it goes smoothly. Like u said before you are both over thinking things plus from everything you said. From wat i read It seems like he had always liked you but est made it awkward for him is the fact that he didn't expect you to like him in return since u turned him down before. His mind is still in the process of comprehending the fact that u reciprocate the affect back to him. So like everyone said before be patience and see how far he will come around one he fully understand that u like him equally as well. Goodluck

What's wrong with you giving him a kiss ? Takes care of the waiting & wondering & guys love it when you make the move.

I agree, make a move. He's probably a little apprehensive because He's worried he might do something wrong and completely turn you off. I'd go in for the kiss too!!
Don't be bummed! It's just a little awkward right now because It's new and neither of you know how to respond to the other's advances.

Tell him that the kiss was great but "cool beans" is soooo 1997. Good luck!

My first kiss with my husband was awful. It was literally a quick peck on the lips, like you'd give your aunt or grandma because he was so nervous. I was like, "Heck, no!" and gave that boy a proper smooch. You both know you like each other; go ahead and make a move!

This helped soooo much, because that was exactly how it was...I was all ready to see fireworks and it was over before it began. I kinda find it a little cute that he was so nervous but kinda annoying!
I'm gonna take everyone's advice and just kiss him!

Do it! He's a guy, they tend to not understand us very well. He's probably nervous and has no freakin clue that you're interested.

Okay, another update...this is becoming a soap opera!
So, yesterday was terrible...he was weird all day . I hated it and was do super bummed. After sulking and being mad for a while, I decided I was going to fix things and go over there and kiss him. But when I called him he didn't answer which is really out of character. Then I was even more bummed and just went to bed!
I woke up a few hours later and had 3 missed calls from him and a text. So I called back and made plans to go over there, even tho it was really late. I needed to get this over with.
We ended up just watching tv and cuddling, the usual for us now, I guess. I was so nervous, so to eliminate the tension I just kissed him. It was good, not great, but good.
The rest of the night went smoothly. I think that we were both much more comfortable after we got that over with. When it was time to leave, he gave me a hug, and then a long, passionate kiss good night. It was perfect and amazing!!!! He's a great kisser!!!
I am totally over the moon right now!!!! I have a good feeling about this! Thank you, curlies for all of your great advice and positive thoughts and I will keep you all in the loop and let you know where things go!

Awe this is so cute - it reminds me of me and my hubby - we were really good buddies when I was dating another guy, when I broke up with the ex, my hubby was all weird and nervous for a week until I forced it out of him (he didn't want to be just a 'rebound'). We talked it out, kissed, and been together ever since.

So, I am just needing a bit of advice...
Things have been going well between me and my friend, I will call him L. We hang out a few times a week, usually cuddling and kissing is involved. We've also been intimate, but are not "in a relationship." a few days ago, his best friend, G (who I used to date years ago) asked me to
jailbreak his iPhone for him. I agreed but made sure that I told L about it. He seemed okay with it and even was on the phone with G part of the time.
While G and I were together, G kept asking me questions about L and I and saying that we make a cute couple. We talked about our past and G's feelings were, "you guys are best friends, that's the best type of relationship. You and I was so long ago and it wasn't that serious. You guys should just go for it" He told me that he expressed the same feelings to L.
So, today L and I were texting and out of nowhere he says, "hey, I have a date tonight but I don't feel like going, how should I get out of it?" wtf?! It felt like I was punched in the gut. I mean, I know I'm your best friend and I know we aren't official yet, but really, dude? Do you think he's trying to tell me something subtly? Maybe that he's not feeling this like I am? I'm confused and irritated.
