My sad shoe collection

http://www.hirecharissa.com/pics/Clo...ad%20shoes.jpg

I have attached a picture of my shoe collection. It is quite sad. My old beat up sneakers and uggs currently get the most usage.

I really need a decent pair of shoes that I can wear with dressier pants. Anyone want to help out? I don't do well in heels, they kill my feet. Those slingbacks I have hurt and give me bad blisters when walking longer distances.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute... Are those all the shoes you own???

What kind of woman are you woman??!!

How about a low- to mid-heel loafer. Something like this

To Trenell, MizKerri and geeky:
I pray none of you ever has to live in a communist state.

Geeky is my hero. She's the true badass. The badass who doesn't even need to be a badass. There aren't enough O's in cool to describe her.
Are those really the only shoes you own?!?! I am simultaneously shocked and feeling incredibly guilty for how many shoes I own!

I hate slingbacks. Every pair I've ever had or tried on hurt my feet and didn't stay on right.

For comfortable, walkable-for-long-distances dress shoes, I like a shoe that has a solid heel, or even a wedge, not more than 2.5 inches high, also has a tiny bit of platform/support under the toe portion (so your foot isn't barely separated from the ground by a tiny layer of sole), and is firmly attached to your foot with some kind of strap (ankle strap, maryjane strap, etc.). Sometimes I'll also buy it just a tiny bit big so I can either put an insole in it, or add a heel fitter thing in the back to keep the back of the shoe from cutting into the back of your ankle.

Sorry. But I got you beat badly.

And I'm a male. :P

How about these from Ninewest? Not sure what your shoe size is, but I think these would be cute. I don't like really high heels also(though I do have more than a few), and I don't do really well with certain flats(end up with a sore arch in my right foot), so these are good medium.

ETA: I just bought some really comfortable low-wedge flats from DSW last Thursday. Aerosoles has a line called "What's what", and they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn/tried on. I bought a pair of flats that work well with casual and dressy-casual wear. And they were only $29.99(reg. 39.99 but I had a $10 off coupon).
A wonderful mix of coils, curls, corkscrews, and kinks.

You should totally check Payless and JCPenney's for shoes - good prices and cute looks.

More economical to spend more (around $60) on something quality you can wear for at least a year, by my calculations.

However, for cute shoes to wear with a specific outfit, Payless is definitely the way to go!

But that's just my personal experience. I will say that these were "expensive" Payless shoes - like $24.99 or whatever.

The bottom of the heel wears off so I don't have balance, and I wear holes though the sole under the ball of the foot, blah blah blah.

Although I gotta say I don't really mind at all, because it's just an excuse to buy more shoes!!! Luckily all my "cute shoes" (i.e. anything other than black, or with a big heel) I don't wear often enough to wear out, so they last for years!

Offtopic: I just bought the cutest pair of leopard print low-heels on Zappos that should be at my house RIGHT NOW! I can't wait to go home from work!

I like your tennis shoes.

I might as well have only a couple of pairs of shoes. I wear my same flip flops and tennis shoes all the time. I have yet to find any "girly" shoes that are comfortable. I hate looking like a slouch all the time, but if the shoe isn't super comfortable (like my tennis shoes) I can't wear them for more than 30 minutes without major foot pain.

If I could wear even a low heel I'd be all over some cute shoes!! I've tried on several ballet flats because I thought it was the answer to cute shoe with no heel since they're popular right now, but they all feel like walking on a bare concrete floor.

Good luck finding some shoes..the ones posted so far are SO cute!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Clark's has a line called "Artisan". These shoes have the comfort of Clarks but are dressier than the usual Clarks.
Okay my shoe collection is a *little* better than yours, but I stress little . I really don't have a lot of shoes either. And the funny thing is, I have more flip flops than anything, and I live in MA!!!

I used to have a ton of cute shoes, but I haven't done anything really for shoe shopping since my FIRST pregnancy - B is 2 1/2 - and my feet grew after her, so the shoes I HAD I had to get rid of.

Very sad, but as a SAHM, not only do I not have the time, or money to go shopping, I really feel guilty building a wardrobe. I just feel that someday my husband will be making a lot of money, and when that happens, I'll be able to do stuff for myself, but being a mother of a toddler w/ a baby on the way, it seems pointless.

If you have a Naturalizer near you, they make very good-quality shoes. They're a bit pricey, but one good pair should last you a long time. Here are some of the flatter designs:

The next three are all on sale: (and they come in black too)

PartyHair: I didn't go to work in sweatpants all the time, sometimes I wore jeans. I really didn't see a point to dressing up when it was a dead end job at a crappy company with no room for growth or a raise at all. Obviously I would not wear sweatpants and sneakers to an interview.

I have tried on shoes at Payless and they are incredibly uncomfortable. The ones I have tried on felt like I was walking around on a block of wood.

Spring1onu: I also thought ballet flats were the answer to my problems. But the front ended up being too tight, the back too loose and it felt like I was walking on the floor.

How much do you spend on shoes that you don't wear that often? I spent $70 or $80 on those Steve Madden cork wedges which was a huuuge mistake. So far I have worn them once, my feet killed and the stupid straps you wrap around your legs wouldn't stay tight.

For some reason I feel guilty buying things for myself. Although as long as I don't go crazy I shouldn't feel guilty. I just hate to spend money on things that I will end up not using, like the above mentioned cork wedges.
