I can't ban from the iPhone so maybe one of the other mods can step in and ban. I won't be home for awhile.
Best I can do is edit out.

I've heard you say this before. Maybe emotional scarring isn't the phrase we should be using.
Off the top of my head though, I can count 4 people I know who have had abortions, and all 4 know exactly how old the child would be today and have some form of regret or remorse about it. In all cases the relationships the people were in fell apart and the one person often blamed or held the other one somewhat negatively responsible for the situation.
Not that that really proves anything, just giving personal accounts that I've witnessed.

I know the potential age because I know when I had the procedure. It isn't an emotional pain that makes me remember. Just regular old memory of my medical procedures. Much like the hernia operation I had in 1984.

Hope that punctuation comes with some complimentary common sense.

The "abortion pill" isn't available in the US.

you are lying.
i have to have transvaginal ultrasounds every 4 months to make sure the cysts on my ovaries do not grow due to my taking HRT.
this is an elastic part of female anatomy - how else do you think babies come out?
i have had technicians put the wand ALL the way in and push up into my body past my cervix in order to get a good view of my ovaries. i have felt someone's hand holding the end of the wand pushed up against my vulva on more than one occasion.
i was diagnosed with PCOS 20 years ago; i've had DOZENS of these procedures in the past two decades.
the wand CAN go ALL THE WAY in!

Ah, I was confused because it's not available in pharmacies in the US. You have to get it directly from a doctor.

Every place I've gone has given me the wand to let me insert it myself.
I always thought it was very nice of them.

I purposefully stopped reading this thread early on because I like that I have low blood pressure and don't usually seek to engage in anything that would make it go through the roof BUT I do have to re-print what Garry Trudeau commented to the Washington Post:
"Texas’s HB-15 isn’t hard to explain: The bill says that in order for a woman to obtain a perfectly legal medical procedure, she is first compelled by law to endure a vaginal probe with a hard, plastic 10-inch wand. The World Health Organization defines rape as “physically forced or otherwise coerced penetration — even if slight — of the vulva or anus, using a penis, other body parts or an object.” You tell me the difference."
Years ago, early on in my second pregnancy, I had a vaginal ultrasound by MY choice after having had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I remember the experience being joyous because I saw the heart beat of the baby we very much had planned and hoped for. As happy as I was with that experience, I can't imagine how violated I'd feel if I were obligated by state law to have that same procedure.

My thoughts exactly!! If you are going for an abortion, a vaginal ultrasound is the least of your worries. Can't see how it is possibly rape.

This is false. I want EVERY child to be taken care of, born and unborn.

Really? Can I get some actual examples of things that people who are against abortion do to help parents in need? Oh, it must be all that healthcare they want everyone to have! Or all the government aid for the poor they champion for! No, wait, that's not right . . .

Obviously I can't speak for every person, but I DO support aid for people in need and support healthcare reform. Not sure how you can generalize an entire group like that. Of course there are hypocrites like every other group, but the pro-lifers I now are very supportive of helping parents in need and giving EVERY child the life they deserve. Abortion stops a heartbeat, that is something I can;t ignore and flies in the face os the "clump of cells" myth people tell themselves.

I know several pro-lifers, myself included, who provide material and financial support to mothers in crisis pregnancies that choose to continue their pregnancies. We continue this support after the child is born, helping mothers find jobs, apply for social services, pay bills, babysitting the child, buying diapers and food, etc. The Gabriel Project is a well-known Catholic organization that works to support families in crisis pregnancies.
My best friend's baby girl turns one next month - she was adopted and her birth mother was a 15 year old girl who decided not to abort. My best friend drove the girl to every pre-natal appointment, helped her with homework & family problems, bought her needed items for the pregnancy, etc. They are still in touch as much as the birth mother chooses to be.
These are just a few examples, there are many more. But do I wish there even more than that? Yes! More can and should be done to help these women who decide not to abort.
